i finished my final bookish project for STITCH*BOOKERY today. every last video has been edited, uploaded, and is ready to roll. the desk in front of the window has been spiffied up. the wild piles of scraps have been corralled into their wooden box and various drawers and cubbies. the floor has been vacuumed and a tea towel i brought back from sweden has been draped over the machine. it will wait there on my desk for me until i return at month’s end. just in time for class to begin. that’s when i rev up the machine again and keep sewing. the class may be completed from the production end, but i still have lots of ideas spinning around the old nutcracker.
i should probably start packing. leaving bright and early on saturday morn. i keep finding other things to do. laundry vacuuming thread washing dishes fiddling around in travel journals adding paper subtracting paper. and so on and so forth.
now i’m watering my giant ramshackle garden which takes hours and hours. hose relocation and all that jazz. down the hill up the hill down the hill up the hill. rinse wash repeat about 20 or so times. not. that i don’t need the exercise.
yes i am aware that i’ve traveled places before and been through this routine an awfully lot, but that doesn’t diminish my anticipation one bit. i can’t wait to step over the threshhold into our island home, unpack, then go outside and stare at the water.
i’ve been pushing my luck with my small battered sky blue suitcase that’s going on 10 years old, but i keep thinking it’s got a few more trips left in it and that the wheels or handle won’t give out just yet. we’ll see.
okay dears. until my postcard from the sound. toodle-oo !

OH, Mary Ann, you couldn’t have picked a more idyllic time so far as weather goes to visit the PNW! It has been perfection here, with cool mornings, because of a marine layer blowing in from the West, and soft breezes. Even inland, where I am, I can feel the marine air. Sunday might be a little more cloudy, but will eventually clear out, for sure for the rest of the week. No rain for 27 days. I just know you will be refreshed in every way. Waving from the South Sound, and wishing you and sister a lovely stay! Can’t wait to see pics from the island.

Have a lovely time. Can’t wait to hear about it. I haven’t signed up for the new course yet but I’m suspecting I might by month’s end. It all looks so yummy. Also yummy and I didn’t tell you–was that photo of your porch outside your home. I saved the photo to my computer, showed my hubby and said, “That’s what I want!” Not sure if I’ll get it but I want it. With a couch or a table. A little hideaway. Ahhh…enjoy the sound!

I always push the limits of my suitcases. One travel tip from Journeywoman was to wrap duct tape around an empty toilet paper roll and keep in my carry on for on the spot repairs! Duct tape never fails!
Have a wonderful time.
I need to travel to water!
