hello friends! hope you’re extra good on this soft sunday morn. we’ve just been on to our little private driftwood beach collecting treasure.
the weather is in my perfect temperature range. currently 58 and partly cloudy.
we awoke to the orange sunrise across the water. surrounded by deep forest and driftwood beach. there are wild flowers blooming. white shells and rocks covering the beach. gently lapping waves.
it smells like the sea. and lavender. we found a little self-serve flower stall selling sweet bouquets after we drove off the ferry and headed to our beach cabin. put our money in the tin box. sister set about arranging them in vases.
there are herb boxes in front of the windows. lots of seats outside. and those small waves that make the nicest sound you can imagine.
and i saw an eagle with his golden beak and talons flying overhead. i heard his wings beating against the evening air.
here we are blogging. HERE is link to sister’s accounting. have given ourselves 20 minutes. so this is it for today. be well. be happy. see you tomorrow!
Well, I flat out wish I was there with you. (I’d be very quiet and not hog the shells.)
Love the postcards! For a few years now we have participated in a seafood buying club called Lumi Island Wild….a group that does sustainable fishing practices. 3-4 times per year we can order their frozen sea food and fish. We live in Longmont Colorado. Your postcards are bringing the beauty to us!
There’s nothing so lovely as summer in the PNW – sweetness of life. Sea salt and lavender and herbs in boxes? Heaven.
Perfect! ♥
Oh my you are so close. I am in North Bend 30 minutes east of Seattle. I am hoping you love our state and have a fantastic time. Travel on my friend, travel on.
What a lovely place to slow down and just rest…or go exploring! Can’t wait to see Lummi Island inspired art.
The ferry video took me back to our trip. I can see you retiring to a little place just like this, Mary Ann.
Bula bula to you too! Looks absolutely peaceful and restorative. Are there any cats on your island? R u going to be swimming and hiking? Any local pubs with quirky natives? Has sister invented a signature Lummi Libation yet, if so please share. This curious bunny heeds to know. Can’t wait to start your new class. Hopping off now to tend my garden. TTFN
