pretend this is a valentine from me to you. except it isn’t. but pretend it is.
it’s a glorious morn. filled with sunshine, open windows, purring cats, and barking squirrels.
there’s a brand new boxcar sitting in my driveway. old car died and 24 hours later i was driving trixie home. yep, my new car came with a name. not kidding.
it’s the first new car of my entire life and boy is it exciting! once i settled on a make/model i texted the dealership back and forth to get all the price haggling out of the way. the edmunds app was great, the test drive was fab, and leo gak the internet sales fellow was wonderful. an overall positive experience.
so now i’m home digging into my midori to continue my chipmunk & squirrel drawing adventure.
yesterday was periscope no. 3 chipmunkery!
it is a unique experience to draw/paint live in a broadcast that’s going straight out into the world. wow. i accidently dislocated chipmunk #004’s finger and gave double06 some pursed lips.
it’s still viewable in the periscope app for a few more hours. i’ll do another one next saturday.
i saw a fantastic periscope from amsterdam the other day @happylittlethings. she walked around amsterdam and showed us shop windows, the canals, streets, etc., so so lovely! i can’t wait to do the same thing next time i travel overseas. which will be in july with my sister.

Trixie is TOO cute. Hope she goes on many coastal and desert trips with you. I think you should mount a bud vase on the dash to put a flower in since you’re in floral mode since taking Pam’s class on painting posies.
I would think it would be SO COOL & exotic to have a walk around in LA… Just sayin’. No need to wait to share a walkabout!!
I love chipmunks! They are the sweetest little things. Once I went for a walk in a local park and found a hole at the base of a tree where one was living. You could see his pine cone stash right there too!
My little red Soul was the first new car I ever bought, as well! I love her, hope you like Trixie as well. I adore my little car. Her name changes on a whim. I have comment issues-ha!
My little kitty that we just lost is named Trixie!!!! I love that name. It means “bringer of joy”, “happy”
When she died we wrote her a letter to tuck into her little paws. I told her I loved her name.
If anyone can help me figure out how to get periscope on my laptop or “smart tv” I would be very appreciative…i have not been able to download the app to my Samsung Note 10.1…when I try it says “not compatible” or something like that…I am not tech savvy at all and I have no resources…meaning children!! they know about tech!! ha!..Meanwhile, I will continue to google to see if I can figure it out!

Mary and I rented a Soul when we were in NY and we loved it. Easy to see out of… feels bigger inside than it looks. Glad that is the car you picked! love the squirrels! SV
Congrats on the new car! My husband and I bought Souls 3 years ago and have enjoyed them a lot. I think you will, too. We’re sort of like Soul Sistes now, right??

I am very frustrated by trying to get periscope on my computer. It seems one can only use it to view things if they are part of twitter, is that correct? Is it only an app for phones? I feel pretty dumb for not being able to figure it out, it seems so easy for everyone else. I did download what I thought was a periscope app, but it appears to be only for music, with no place to search for the t.v. part of it. I sometimes feel lost in the sea of all this fast paced technology. I can use a computer and I can use my smart phone, but I don’t use facebook nor twitter and everything seems to require it.

Thanks Mary Ann for the help. I did get the periscope app to install, but couldn’t figure out how to “follow” you. Every FAQ that I read seemed to keep mentioning that the follow function was on Twitter. I am just not ready to get a Twitter account. YIKES! I give up on most of this stuff. It gives me more frustration than I can deal with right now. I asked my hubby for assistance and he was as stumped as I am. But I truly do appreciate your assistance. I ‘ll continue to read about your antics and adventures on the blog for now. BD

Congratulations on the new car! I wonder if they will make a ‘car sketchers edition’ in your honor? I haven’t signed up for the Periscope thing yet, but this may make me finally break down and get a Twitter account (not for tweeting, just for watching Periscope). You have this level of influence.
guess what?! you no longer need to have twitter! you can just get the periscope app. i’m 99% sure. i don’t use my twitter. ever. i just got it for periscope. wish i’d have known i didn’t need it!
It’s a good thing because people following you on Twitter will be notified when you broadcast too + get a link to click! 🙂
