Rearranging pages from my sketchbooks into different groupings is great fun. Which is why in the new year one of my artistic goals is to start doing work outside the sketchbook. I want to have loose pages to rearrange on my studio walls. Perhaps I will want to scan them, reproduce them, offer prints for sale, or who knows what! It’s a new year and I’m open to new possibilities.
I will always keep illustrated journals & sketchbooks, but changing things up a bit feels interesting & fresh.
I’ve been inundated with requests for discount memberships now that my Typepad blog and all of the associated content is vanishing into cyberspace on January 1st. I wrote about it HERE, if you missed it. Please note, those of you who’ve signed up for membership-style classes that have expiration dates, your classes are not ending. Classes end for you only if the class blog you visit has the word “typepad” in the url address. If it doesn’t, you are A-okay and can do a fist pump or happy dance. You decide.
I’ll just be here, sorting through sketchbook pages and dreaming about the bright new year.

Dawnri beat me to it. I was going to suggest a calendar too. I need one for 2016 and I hate buying the commercial ones, but will bite the bullet and do it one more time. It would be so fun to have a MAM calendar for next year:). How happy making it would be to look at your art on my wall every day! And to have the images to frame after the calendar is done! Cool beans:)

MaryAnn,
For your first saleable item, may I suggest you create a calendar?
Take your favorite sketch from each month…maybe add a little burb about what technique, material or inspiration you used. Or alternatively, create a split image: one side of a place you visited and a sketch you did at the time.
Feeling too rushed to start in Jan? Many planners start in June/July and go 12-18 months. Giving you a good head start to begin now.
Finding an online resource that has image upload and prints on demand should be fairly simple to find – although i admit, I do not have a source handy for you.
Good luck ….Just another way to help you fund your next trip my friend. 🙂
