pssst. hey you. wanna go for a ride?
put your bra on and some flip flops, we’re hitting the road!
you’ll end up here in a hot tub staring up at a pinkening sky in approximately 9 hours.
first stop an orange grove. they’re heavy with fruit right now. and the trees are all standing at attention in their rows. perfect green globes covering every hillside. oh they are pretty!
the only picture i have of said groves is in my mind… but there was this morning glory. winding its way through the fence.
oh look there’s joyce & sharron! take note of the color of sharron’s jacket. your favorite color right?
there’s more! low tide was at 13:42. the former owner of this lovely purple anemone shell left us a gift on the sand.
the gulls were in meetings.
i walked for a looooong way around points and over rocks. until at last my eyes came to rest right here.
on this lovely sea urchin. actually, there were 2. i saved one for you. will email directions & a map later.
soon enough it was time to check into my beach shack. no view, no wave action, but plenty of succulents, light strings, a hot tub, and a cozy little room for the night.
maybe i’ll take a discreet cutting to bring you. i know how you like those.

Way to go, sister. Sea urchins: a dose of beauty for times like these.
So glad to have met Joyce, Sharron, Mary and Syd in person.
So glad to have been there with you.

Brilliant post, ‘cept I’m not putting on my bra. With a sweatshirt, no one can tell, am I right?

Mary Ann–It’s great that you’ve been able to travel so much during your hiatus. Thanks for all the great pics. I do like the color purple and it’s my daughter’s favorite color. Enjoy!
Cynthia says
Oh my gosh! The colors of purple create a theme running through this lovely post. The morning sky is the same color as the jacket. As if you planned it, but how could you? A true serendipity.

I got in the car with you – front seat so we could yak a little on the way when we weren’t looking around and being quiet, which we were doing a lot. Nice meeting the girls! Beautiful walk on the beach. And we needed that lavender….flower, urchin, anemone, jacket, yes we did! Should we do some sketching now or have a bite to eat? Or maybe both?

Tide pools! I agree with an earlier post; you need to move up the coast and retire in a beach hut (so we can see views like this regularly! We know you are willing to take one for the team in that way.) I have the same variety of succulent (the pink/gray ghost one) with the long stalk and the petals on the end. Beautiful.

A sea urchin and an anenome–you must be at a magical beach!

Thanks for taking me with you on this beautiful trip!

Wonderful post. I don’t even mind having the sand between my toes!
