you know the itty bitty kitty committee on instagram? this is like that. except there aren't any kitties.
it's just an itty bitty sketching committee posted outside of elmer's in palm springs.
i was just sitting around staring at people and imagining speech bubbles sprouting above their heads.
but pam & sister were busy sketching people.
whaaaa?
theirs were so good, i decided to join in.
i would never be able to do this alone, but with a committee it's way easier.
i hope they post their elmer's characters soon.
i've been carrying this little moleskine (approx. 3×5) in my purse with my itty bitty watercolor palette & my waterbrush for awhile now.
don't know how i ever left home without it!
don't ask me to explain the cwazy cwap i write on some of my pages.
some old stuff…
more art retreat stuff…
and more coming down the pipeline soon!
whatchoo doing? something very extremely totally fabulous good i bet.

Fun! I made a sunflower on my mosaic wall this morn. I smashed an old chipped bowl that was made in Italy. It was the perfect color yellow and made nice petals. It got too warm in my greenhouse since we are above average temps. But I have planted snow peas, lettuce and cabbages all the same. That’s what I’m doing. Love hearing about your doin’s.

I’m a big fan of Sara Midda books who illustrates in this way. Have a look for her book South Of France: A Sketchbook, it’s delightful

This is really cool! I’ve got an itty bitty sketchbook as well, but I haven’t been using it in that way. I use mine mostly when I see patterns or hear something I like while out. I’ll have to try this sometime.

I really enjoy seeing your itty bitty sketches. I love that you just get it down on paper and move on. No wondering about it. I bet you can look back and remember every little detail that made your day. Thanks.
