What an incredible story you linked from The New Yorker, “Lottery Ticket.” I needed several Kleenexes to finish it. I do so want to see “The Theory of Everything.” I was planning to go see a special showing of it one night last week but got the flu instead. Not a good exchange. Down for the count for days.
Aloha, Kate

I loved THE JUDGE. GONE GIRL disappointed me because I had read the book. The book has more subtext. I loved, loved, loved NIGHTCRAWLER;maybe one of Gyllenhal’s best.

I saw Wild the movie and read the book. I thought book was MUCH better than movie. Imitation Game was fab! I don’t know why this man was unknown to me! I was alive during WWII, love history, yet never knew of this genius’s work and the tormented life he led. Even tho I watched several episodes of Bletchley Circle on PBS, I didn’t make the connection to Alan Turing.
I’ll look into the book you loved. I’m into reading books that I wanted to read in the distant past but let slip through my fingers. I’m starting this Old is New reading quest with Chesapeake by James Mitchner. This one was recommended many times by my book loving friends some 30 years ago. Better late than never, I say.
