with only a little water the garden roars to life.
bright shocks of red & green.

this scented geranium with the velvety leaves was started with cuttings taken from a beach cottage i rented last summer.
they were mixed in with white roses in little vases around the house.
here is the soft mint ink i mentioned. and some of the other colors i've loaded into my fountain pens.
it's quite easy to pop the cartridges with the different colors in and out.

i'm not sold on the noodler's black eel yet, and may never be. it's impressively unremarkable.

I like their Heart of Darkness black. It makes a nice shadow, but if you let it sit awhile it seems water resistant. Makes a nice dark line, especially in my Cross fountain pen. for drawings I don’t want smudging, Lexington Grey is very nice. Plays well with watercolors. I just mixed a most lovely teal using Navajo Turquoise, which was a bit too pure blue for me, and some Bad Green Gator (a nice green black). I like it so much I turned my half bottle of turquoise teal! I got the idea of mixing them from YOU!

Thank you so much for the specifics of those ink colors you are using Mary Ann. And hurrah that they are all in the “affordable” range, as there are several brands out there that are twice their price! I cringe at spending almost $30 for a bottle of ink I’ll probably get sick of in a couple of months.

Many of my artsy friends swear by the DeAtramentis document inks…some are water soluble, some not. I don’t have personal experience with them….yet. Love Goulet Pens, their blog, their Q&A sessions, I’ve been a fan for years. Their sample inks are a good way to get acquainted with different inks.
I dearly love the beauty in your garden….those succulents! Amazing.

Oh yes, please, bring on the flowers and slumbering cats. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…. delightful as always. Inks. I have a couple of the Noodler’s inks and I agree with you, I’m not a fan of their blacks and I’ve tried a couple of them. That soft mint if gorgeous. Reminds me of an Aegean Sea.

Ok, so that is the mint ink. Previously, I was thinking in terms of mint chocolate chip.
