the word refrigerator wouldn't fit, that's why.
i looked about for pink things to sketch. i had the strong urge to dip my wet brush into the moist pans of pink (opera rose & quin coral).
here is something pink. it may require further study. it may be fun to see if i can match this exact shade.
it would require restraint on my part. but i think i can do it.
i'm crazy about drawing everything with my new soft mint ink. luscious.
i painted this a couple of weeks ago in timber cove. sometimes it's nice to just jump right in with the paint.
it's a glorious cool monday in los angeles. we had rain over the weekend. winter is back!
i'm going to find something around moss cottage to draw or paint.
i wonder what color of ink i'll use?
hope you're happy. hope you're warm. i wouldn't object if you brought over a pot of soup and some crusty bread for dinner.
i wouldn't.

That pink flower? I’d start with a watercolor paint named “opera”. It’s my new favorite pink for flower painting, and blends beautifully with cerulean, French ultramarine, and the clear yellows. It’s revolutionized my flowers, especially those crazy pink ones that are so difficult to tame on paper!
Cheers!

If I could visit, I’d bring a large, clear, tall glass of Nestle’s Quick Strawberry Milk – with a red and white striped straw. And a plateful of large round sugar cookies with really-thick-really-pink icing. Now there’s some pink for you! (I like pink too – in all forms.)

Made a batch of chicken noodle soup that turned out yummy and warms ya right up. I’ll send a jar via the mighty air waves and put my wings on them. I’ll have to rig up some kind of harness and adjust for size but I think I can make it work. This would be a prime moment for my DD’s BF to test his drone thingamajig…I wonder what kind of range it gets….;) chuckle, chuckle, snort….btw, your sketches lit up my little corner of the world just now. LOVE!!!!

Love this post. And you have no idea how happy it would make me to drop by with soup and bread! But I’m probably 500 or more miles away. Still its such a lovely thought to start the day. New meaning to the term “soup group!”

Ah, your sketches are beautiful! I am in love with the pine cone 🙂 If I lived close enough, I would drop off some soup and crusty warm sourdough bread…and butter, of course! However, I CAN forward you this potato soup recipe that I tried last week, which was REALLY yummy! http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2013/01/perfect-potato-soup/ I substituted Canadian bacon for the “bacon”..and added fat free half and half instead of the full fat one. But it was yummy, and wonderful for a cold winter day! mmmm….
I love seeing your journal pages 🙂
Bon Appétit!

Mary Ann…would you mind telling me what your fave fountain pen inks are these days, and who makes them? I’m looking for some unusual colors and love your taste in color!

Minestrone soup’s on the fire and I do believe I could rustle up a pan (or two) of homemade cornbread to go with.
I’m just sayin’. ;))
Pink and the mink….yummmmy visual candy.
Lead on, McDuff.

If I could get to you with soup (a delicious pepper potato soup that is thick and slightly spicy and the most lovely shade of orange) and some bread with a crust so interesting we would have draw it before we ate it, I would. It’s like minus 20 here in Michigan and I am not a fan. Soup and bread will help me through the day, of course, but it would be more fun to share them with someone in a more temperate climate. This is why we’re moving later this year.!

Oops! Sister was talking about soup today on her blog…. I guess I unconsciously combined your 2 ideas together!

There was a time I could not abide the color pink. Now, I love it.
I am aiming to make a pot of Onion Soup with there different cheeses. It is an experiment because it will be my first time making the recipe. I know already it will be delicious because I will make it from home cooked stock.
