happy new year my jewish friends!
it's a school holiday here in los angeles.
i added some leaves from my burgundy wine euphorbia trees to a square in my sketchbook.
and turned the page. in another week i may have completed another spread. my ambition knows no bounds.
the prettiest "weed" is growing in one of my succulent pots.
mary sent me a link to a new-to-me artist, natalie wargin. i get such a thrill when i find a new artist to admire on the vast interwebs.

I think Paulette is right…a volunteer Jacaranda tree….they are gorgeous but messy…have beautiful lavender flowers. I’ve never heard of a Euphorbia tree…can you post a picture of the actual tree?
Linda Watson says
Beautiful, beautiful. As always. Thinking I may need a euphorbia like that in the new front yard. Is that a Jacaranda “weed?”

Thank you so much for introducing me to Natalie Wargin. Wow! I’m blown away. Another blog to ad to my way too long list. By the way: the link in you post to her site is not working, so I googled her, but I though you might like to know so you could fix that.
Also love your pages of course. Fall is starting here too. The summer seemed endless (I’m not really a summer person, so that’s not necessarily a positive for me, I’m so done with being sticky), but now we are finally going into autumn. Yay!

Thanks for the holiday wishes bubbelah!

Love your painting! You are so talented my dear. About time you started thinking about a new on-line class so I wanted to throw my ten cents in…how about a portrait painting class ala MAM using magazines as inspiration. We need a fearless leader to demonstrate that noses don’t have to be feared, nostrils can look like they belong to living persons rather than skeletal remains, that teeth can be tamed to resemble something human vs. Jurassic. But for you and Sketchbookery, my leaves, flowers and shrubs would still be called abstract images of dirty plates. BTY that weed looks suspiciously like Cannabis ruderalis. TTFN.

It is always a pleasure to pop in and visit your world, Mary Ann.
And your pretty “weed” is looking lie a Jacaranda tree to me!
