i recently got this book on amazon used and find it utterly divine. i have turned the pages hundreds of times devouring them with my eyes. the rich colors and simple shapes are lyrical and fresh. yum yum yum!
the paris review did an excellent studio tour/interview with the author/artist leanne shapton. you can find it HERE.
HERE's an article from the new yorker where she describes her process of painting her sunday night movie illustrations.

on an unrelated but equally stimulating note…cabin porn anyone? after the recent moss family cabin escapade i'm dreaming of cabins morning, noon, and night.
finally, some literary brain food. i just ran across arts & letters daily and immediatly added it to my bloglovin' feed. if you eat books for breakfast you'll enjoy!

those pages are gorgeous. I love coming across art that is so simplistic in composition, but completely draws you in. I think that’s why I love watercolor so much. I feel like it’s one of the best mediums for that effect.

Thanks for the great book offering. I just ordered myself a good used copy! This is the link to the guest house I stayed in when in Ireland. It was such a fantastic view from each window! Only 45 bucks a night off season. Good for 1 or 8+.
