playing with the waterlogue app again. of course since i am incapable of copying something without going off on a tangent of one kind or another, mine looks different. the filter i used was technical.
wouldn’t these make lovely postcards or notes? especially if watercolor isn’t your gig.
um.
can i help it if i have above average ideas.
no. i can’t.
i’m also drawing figures with watercolor. no features or details. you know… to populate my elaborate urban sketches that are sure to spring forth from my hand on my next trip.
THIS video was super helpful. THIS one was helpful and had the added benefit of being funny.
you’ll notice i accidently put cj’s foot on backwards. whoops.
i did these figures in the park the other day sitting across from this couple. they didn’t even notice me!
drawing figures could be a really fun party game. for your next get-together. just sayin’.

Personally I think the people (always the hardest of sketch materials) are quite lovely in their gesture-full-ness.

I love all of this watercolor!! It is my favorite medium. I haven’t heard of this Waterlogue app–I definitely want to check that out.

I love playing with Waterlogue app also. So much faster to get a decent watercolor of something you took a photo of. I keep thinking that I could use it to help me to do shadows and highlights better, if I could only be observant enough. TFS

As always another wonderful, fun, informative, entertaining post!!
The end of spring break…the beginning of the home stretch before summer vacay, I say!!
Plan for tomorrow, btw, after I walk about 6 miles, is to prepare a palette of gouache blocks according to your directions. I have been viewing your gouache posts for some time and am now ready for the next step….
xx

Thanks for the smiles ‘water woman of colors’ well spring of inspiration that you are. I stop by for a visit and walk away feeling refreshed and full, time here is time well spent. It is so much better than a cup of coffee sometimes. I totally enjoyed your figures, I’m gonna be smilin’ all day and well into the evening. I got a blick coupon in the mail today and I am really thinking it would be well spent on a set of watercolors. Everywhere I turn these days, my favorite art peeps are extolling the virtues and fun of watercolors. I actually have a few tubes that I’ve enjoyed playing with that I picked up years ago. I think it’s time to take the plunge off the diving board. Watercolor puddles to stomp in….whoop, whoop, whoop.

You always come through with amazing eye candy!!! I’m always inspired by your art and for how you embrace life. My only regret is that I live too far to stop by Moss Cottage for a beverage and a drawing marathon! Your back yard has tons of subjects to be used in a sketchbook.
