i’m baaaaaaack from a mini-art retreat in santa barbara with pam, mary, and syd. pam & i rented this little bungalow and spent every waking moment in our journals. mary & syd who live nearby popped in with piles of art supplies, journals, good food, company, and fun presents. i’ll be doing a much more detailed post about our little retreat soon. i have lots more photos to share. i came home with a big stack of paper, chocolate, a rabbit, and a new watch. how lucky i am and grateful to have the opportunity to spend time with such talented, charming women. an old friend and 2 new friends. life is good.
i got home this afternoon and spent the rest of the time getting ready to launch registration for SEWN. while i was in santa barbara i was working on the SEWN class blog and realized i had accidently deleted a huge chunk of the TICKET TO VENICE class blog days before. oyvey! after a frenzied couple of hours i got TTV back on track only to have SEWN derailed. hah! it’s 2:39 am and i am happy to report that i think (fingers crossed) that i have fixed everything. and…registration is underway. go to my online classes page and click the SEWN link to sign up.
big thanks for the flood of well-wishes and enthusiasm around my latest online venture. means so much. more than you can possibly know. it’s so fun to launch a class in the summer!
xo

I hope it goes fabulously, as I know it will! You always seem to fix up the little hiccups and get everyone going. The intro vid looks great. I want you to be able to stay on break… stay. on. break. Meaning, stay with your passion.
The little art retreat looked fun fun fun! People and play! good stuff.
I can’t take any classes right now! I have to go to Kansas City and visit my home town after 40 years! I’m a nervous wreck! I can’t sew or pattern when I’m nervous!
Okay, I can drink vodka and then sew and pattern and play frisbee (that’s part of the class?). But I can’t take anything else for awhile! No, no no!!
maybe.
forget it!
probably.

Before all this sewing starts, mayby there is time for some reading.
I read “the baker’s daughter” last week, by Sarah McCoy. Totally recommend it.
And 10 lovely recipes as a bonus.

I am SEEEEEEEEEEEEEW…okay, never mind. SOOOOOO stoked! Gonna go check it out this exact minute! Presuming I don’t make any more typos! Seriously, I can hardly make my fingers work. It’s ridiculous! I’ll stop now. Okay, really. I can do this!

All signed in and ready for SEW much fun! 😉 I do not know why ‘sewing types of persons’ always have to make puns with the word ‘sew’ (e.g. ‘it’s sew easy!’) but I figured if I try their verbiage, I’m sure to be better with the ol’ machine. She’s gonna have a heart failure over all this mixed media wildness to come. Fur sure. xo, J.

Hi Sweetie ~ just want to congratulate you on a brilliant new class and I hope/I’m sure it’ll be a winner for you and all the peeps. I think I’m gonna sit this one out, though possibly later I’ll pick up on it.
Have a glorious weekend, my friend.
Hugs

all I can say is happy that you had a fun getaway with your art buddies (can’t wait for the peek pics) and splitting sideways, excited for the blast to begin. In the meantime, I’ve already started my hunt for pattern inspiration. Oh the fun of it all.

if it is a real rabbit you could have a naming competition. And he (or she) could be in the next videos like Buck was every now and then. Nibbling carrots, or sipping your class cocktail when you’re not watching.

A real rabbit?
I have a pet rabbit! He’s great. His name is Bunsen and I totally adore him.
Are those LPs on the fence outside that little building? cool!
Can’t wait to hear more about it!
