Christmas Eve with a friend at a cozy little Italian place. My sister, in an effort to bring a sense of culture to my uncivilized ways, has been schooling me on the finer points of red wine. I'm slow and can't remember what she tells me. But this house Chianti was
g o o d. I know that.
Earlier, a Christmas Eve gift of flowers arrived on my doorstep. Fortunately they came with a vase because all the vases at Moss Cottage have gone missing. A recipe also arrived for Sauerkraut Soup which I'm planning to make this week.
This is what my kitchen table looks like. Chaos. I'm finally running low on red thread. The only time I change the thread on my machine is when it runs out. That's how lazy I am. Ummm well if I was making myself a pair of white party pants I guess I could change the thread. You know…to white.
Starting on the 5th of January I'll be broadcasting live blogging from Merida in the Yucatan. A surrogate mother is moving into Moss Cottage to keep the cat posse out of mischief. I doubt it'll do much good. It usually doesn't.
Happy New Year – I do have to tell you I have been through One spool of red and two spools of brown thread since I started this amazing Remains of the Day journey.
Happy New Year, my friend. I look forward to another year!
hoping you’ve a fab time in merida…
don’t need to pack too much.
Happy New Year….anxious to tag along on your trip to Merida…ahhh the warmth of it!
x..x
Those flowers were just what I needed as I looked out the window on the way to the computer and saw the snow and could hear the furnace running furiously trying to keep us warm (that is if you can call 64º warm?
I’ve heard good things about Merida. Wish I could go with you.
Love your blog,
xoxo
I was blog hopping tonight — so many blogs. I’m attempting to put some “life” into my blog and was looking for ideas. Alas, nothing was that exciting except D.J. Pettitt. I know I can always come to your blog and leave feeling like I’ve been fed and also given a glass of wine!!! I love to visit your blog. Thanks for sharing your crazy life!
Saurkraut soup sounds wonderful…you should share the recipe! YUM! And I’m like you…I don’t change my thread on my sewing machine until it runs out, either. Just too lazy, I guess. LOL Enjoy Merida and be safe.
Peace & Love,
~Barb~
