Maybe you remember my littlest Stencilry student this summer? Well this giant envelope arrived on my doorstep the other day.
From non other than Lucious Maximus Alexander Quirno Diaz Barriga. One glittery beaded red heart. Yum.
One fabulous portfolio. No matter what else is happening on planet earth at any given moment – wars, tsunamis, fire storms, and just plain bad stuff – a little kid’s random drawings are the moonshine that will make everything all better again.
I could pore over a big stack of childrens’ art for hours and be happy as a drunk clam.
They are so curious, and interesting. Things live inside a kid’s head that we can’t possibly remember. Other worlds, mysterious, beautiful, and dear.
Mr. Max has his own blog. He LOVES books and has great recommendations for kids! He loves PINK and went to see her in concert at the Staples Center recently. He studies karate and just got an electric guitar. That he bought himself… by selling his artwork to family and friends. His mom told me she is amazed at what he can do with spraypaint & stencils all by himself.
I’m positive he’s destined for super stardom. Of some kind. Or another.
In the meantime, I’m awfully glad he found his way across cyberspace and into one of my online classes.
this made me cry, no kidding. i love this THISMUCH.
i was at L.A. Live on Pink night. too bad i didn’t hold up a cardboard sign as big as me: ‘MAX’. that would have been neato.
What a talent!!! Look forward to seeing more from this young man!
