Come January I’ll be basking in the sunshine HERE for 10 days. House has been rented. Tickets secured. A new city to explore. A place I’ve always wanted to go. Can you guess the location?

that yellow curtain looks awfully familiar.

Is it somewhere in Guatemala..or very south in Mexico..Are you going to tell us?
Nancy says
I was thinking the Yucatan peninsula or perhaps Guatemala. The temples definitely look Mayan, the cemetery looks too “lacy” to be Oaxaca (but then, I haven’t been to Oaxaca for 60+ years). Have a great time, I look forward to seeing your travel journal when you get back. Nancy

I was going to say Peru, but then rethunk it to say somewhere in Mexico, but not the big city there. Somewhere more remote. Is there a place that is a cross betwixt Peru and Mexico? Bolivia?

It does have a Latin feel (houses) and pre-Columbian feel (temples) – south. The cemetary is the most intriguing image

I’m going for somewhere in Mexico but not MCity. I don’t know that country but it looks like a lotta dining rooms which is A-OK with me.

roberta – they’re all rentals, not swaps. i go online and find apartments/villas/houses etc., to rent. i have some links of agencies i’ve used in europe. vacation rental by owner is a big one: VRBO. i highly recommend them. they have places all over the world. renting a place is comparable to staying in a fine hotel, only cheaper and WAY BIGGER. plus you get to experience a less touristy part of travel. super fun to have an entire house/apartment!

Looks like Peru to me…you lucky girl. Hey Mary Ann…you’ve done several of these “house swaps” for your travels…or are they “rentals”. Just wondering how it works? Thanks, R
