I have come into possession of a box of the sweetest peaches on the planet. For the next few days I will be in a peach trance. Brought about by different things.
A plate of peach juice.
breakfast. steel cut oatmeal, peaches, and cream.
I ran out of limoncello. Not a problem. Triple Sec-soaked berries are equally good spooned over the frozen plain yogurt from TJ's. Some flexibility comes in handy in the kitchen. Tomorrow I add peaches to the mix. Maybe replace the orange liquer with some vanilla vodka. Maybe drizzle some PEACHCELLO over the berries. Invite people over, do some blind taste testing. I like concocting things in my kitchen laboratory.
Desert after dinner? Who are you kidding?! It was for lunch.
I saw some peaches being grilled and served over seared ahi tuna on the Food Network. Hmmmmmm…
This was desert after dinner:
Opening up my calendar-stencil-anything-goes book and playing around with mixing paint. Something I haven't done in forever. But which I got quite excited about after seeing THIS. And which I'll do again tomorrow with new triads of colors.
It's a balmy evening here in the gleaming metropolis. I hear a peach calling my name from her box in the kitchen.

Mmmm, mmmm, good! It’s still a little early for peaches up here but I’ve been in the raspberry zone for the past week. Found a Mennonite produce stand that sells the biggest, most fragrant berries I’ve seen in many moons. And blueberries that actually taste like something….amazing! Fruit is one of the very best things about summer, in my book. Peach Melba, anyone?

I just bought a juicer over the weekend and peach juice sounds mighty good. If it’s a summer fruit I love it! And that last photo of your anything goes book is fantastic!

Yum. I’ve been overdosing on fruit the last few days – bought too much and don’t want any to spoil!
Last week someone gave me a basket of peaches from Moraga, and I don’t think I’ve ever tasted sweeter ones, ever.
Bought too many mangos the other day, wonder what they would be like with limoncello, and maybe walnuts…

Looks like the box of peaches I just picked up at Trader Joe’s 15 minutes ago.
This is my second box!! They are some of the best peaches I have had, and coming from one who lives in Georgia the Peach state that is something!!!!
I am having stuffed pork chops from TJ too – grilled peaches sound terrific with it!!!!!
I love TJ. I have too many bags of theirs. I keep forgetting to put them back in my car for the next visit!!!!

Those peaches look just about perfect! Where did you get a whole box?

Hello, you! Peaches are one of my favorite parts of summer. 🙂 Hope you’re having a good summer. I’ve been AWOL for quite awhile, but look forward to catching up on all the goodness you capture here in the coming days. xo

Oh YUM!! Mary Ann, I did the same thing last week but with a box of apricots and a tray of FIGS, both from out CA way. Hopefully I’ll get good peaches this week. The Greek yogurt I get here is almost as good as yours, it just doesn’t say TJ on the carton. Your dessert pages look good enuff to eat as well.

That last page made me think of sixties graphic design so I looked up Saul Bass and bumped into THIS PAGE http://wordandimage.wordpress.com/2009/02/
on this site which yielded many riches. Ah, the Internet, I love the endless serendipity of hunting one thing, then finding unsought treasures.

Hi MA – YUMMMMMMM – my mouth is watering. There is nothing like the perfect sweet juicy peach. About 4 years ago I came across a recipe for Deep.Fried.Peaches. I think about them more often that I’d admit in person but I’ve never had the nerve to make them for fear it could lead to problems (with an “s”). But I swear one of these days I’m gonna channel my inner Paula Dean and go for it.
Love the journal pages too – has a retro 60’s vibe – Cool!
