Postcards from Kansas featuring photos taken while walking through downtown Kansas City. Give me a new city to explore and I will go there.
These magically storied collages were hanging on a wall in a Lawrence restaurant. I fell in love. Head over heels would not be an exaggeration.
The artist's name is Larrisa Wilson, but I couldn't find any more about her. What a fresh and different point of view. So arresting!
Driving through Kansas City at twilight. There is no end to the rich and varied urban landscape. Naturally my eyes gravitated towards type.
This found in the teeny tiny town of Atchison, Kansas.
Right on small town America, right on!

So glad you are exploring and getting some time off. You mentioned exploring parts of California next. Any chance you will be in Joshua Tree? It would be fun to meet you, since I love your blog and they way you SEE. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

Well, if you took that Uptown photo, you could have come a few blocks over and had coffee at my place. Had I known…
By the way, the Uptown is even more fabulous on the inside, very ornate, old-style theater.

What kind of printer/paper do you use to make these post cards? I have printing issues right now. Also, what kind of camera do you use? I have to say, I really enjoy seeing the world through your lens – you have a wonderful perspective on things. Thanks for sharing.

My Dad is from Atchison; my Double BB from Wichita. Anything Kansas piques my familial interests. I’m addicted to YOUR postcards but my personal efforts? pffft. You need to include a ‘don’t try this at home’ caution, Miss Mary Ann, with all your wondrous art. Mine always comes out looking like — well — MINE, and not yours. Did I say pffft? Also, you are contagious — everywhere I go, now, I find myself looking at TYPE. Surprisingly enough, there is a lotta cool sh** by way of type in Phoenix. I just needed my eyes opened. You do that for me. A lot.

You have magic glasses which see colors that the rest of us pass by – no, you have magic eyes. I am grateful for them and for you sharing what you see. I haven’t slowed down enough to see as well but I do think about it and that is a beginning. Thank you Mary Ann

Hey Larrissa, I love yer stuff. Hope you have a blog so we can check out more of it. Guess it’s a lesson in marketing,… leave your contact details, so you can be “disovered”.
