The weekend is almost here and I’m deliriously, joyously, drunkenly happy at the thought of having 2 nights and 2 days all to myself to finish up a few mailart projects I’ve been working on and conduct more spraypaint experiments in my visual journal. In addition I plan to dive head first into my new 1 cent book I purchased recently from Amazon Used, whose first line is:
THEY’RE ALL DEAD NOW.
I could be wrong, but I don’t think you can miss with a beginning like that. Check the first book on my Bookshelf over to the right to see the title. It will be promptly removed if it turns out to be a lemon.
The page at the very top and bottom are from my current visual journal. The hand-lettered & painted signs below are from San Miguel de Allende. I’ve been meaning to share them since I returned. A font/type junkie like me gets very excited by this type of thing.
While zipping here and there in cyberspace this week I found THIS great little artist’s book – Down The Rabbit Hole by Jen Osborn. I’m not familiar with her work, but maybe some of you are. Great stuff!
I also went over to check out some fantastic art by Karen Michel. I haven’t been to her blog in awhile and didn’t know she had a Flicker account. I dig her portraits!
love the journal pages and can’t wait to see if your new book is any good…what a great first line for a novel…
ooo, that is a good opening. I believe strongly in good opening paragraphs. I have been known to toss a book that doesn’t reach the bar. Love your pages!
you’ve inpired me -i’m off to find a bottle of spray paint! i’m happy you have two full days to play 🙂
yah baby, if you liked “the way the crow flies then you are going to like “fall on your knees”.
patty who is anxiously waiting for more MacDonald writings.
