While I was blissfully napping this afternoon Wyatt Earp brought a bird in the house for a playdate. Guess where the bird was when I awoke? Perched atop a window frame in my art room. Poor thing. Not only was he a very sweet little birdie but, he responded very well to my advanced flight direction hand signals and flew right out the front door. (When your house is only 650 square feet this is not as difficult as it sounds.) Monk’s sister is going to be very disapproving of the downy feathers scattered about. Good thing I’ll be at work when she arrives Thursday to do battle with all things dirty and out of order.
This vividly inked and watercolored mailart from Vinnie was in my box when I arrived home today. I like the teeny tiny inked words making their way across the portrait. Seeing this in my mailbox made my heart skip a beat. I mean, is this cool or what? Thanks Vinnie!
On my last trip to Carmel this past winter, I managed to capture the blue bird of paradise AND this bird on a wire within a few minutes of each other. I post them in honor of the poor birdy who had the misfortune of being caught today by W.E. the bird whisperer.

Fish gotta swim

some cats gotta kill till they die….
Now some cats don’t smirk about it as much as wyatt earp does, but he just wants you to know that if trader joes ever goes out of business he is fully prepared to keep you well fed with a wide variety of tasty treats.

I find that cats kill much more than dogs do.
That’s why I don’t own cats.
My dog just wants to chase stuff.
The cat on the other hand .. wants to kill.
Birds, bugs, spiders, baby rabbits, mice and lizards.

haha That kitty has a so guilty look. And he also has a look that lets you know that he will so do it again at the very next chance he gets.
I had a Siamese kitty who was a World Class Bird Whisperer. But we had a deal. All the wildlife he brought in our apartment (even smaller than your house) he took into the bathroom. It was easier for me to collect and set them free.
Bad kitty 😉
