i spotted this monarch caterpillar munching on some milkweed, not in my garden alas, but that will come soon enough. for now i will study the others i happen upon.
seaside gardens! who knew? i never knew of its existence until this, my 959th visit to carpinteria. it is splendid! you must go. you must. you will! it’s a nursery, but also has beautiful gardens. more on my visit in an upcoming post.
for now, let me open the door to my hideaway and get unpacked.

Hum..This summer I stopped and stayed in Pismo Beach and Santa Barbara. I stopped in at The Sacred Space on my way south. Next time will have to make a stop it Carpenteria! I love the Central Coast of California.

Can’t wait for the big reveal–where are you?! I went to a travel sketchbooks exhibition in Clermont-Ferrand, France, last weekend–surely you know it, as it’s the headquarters of Michelin tires 😉 ! That made me just want to go away and draw and paint and glue stuff into my journals . . . Alas, neither the French nor the Swiss are big on American Thanksgiving!
