Thanks for sharing your beautiful journal in full. These wonderful travel journals are the reason I signed up for your latest online class. I’m in the process of making my own for an upcoming trip… from looking at this journal and the online class info, it seems the journals start with minimal ephemera added in. Is that correct… is there really very little in it to start? I realize you’re paint and filling on your trip. But mine looks really sparse. Regardless… thanks for sharing your journal here!

Did you watch the Lummi Island Travel Journal video on STITCH*BOOKERY? It’s one of the week 4 videos. About 25 minutes long. I go through every step of the construction plus show you each page prior to my trip. Maybe rewatch…if you haven’t already.. Any more questions after that and I’ll be happy to answer over on STITCH*BOOKERY. I only have a few things sewn on each page prior to travel. Hope this plus the video on class site helps answer your question. 🙂

What a treat to armchair travel with you and Carol, and then to see your journal too! What surprised me most was your voice! You don’t sound at all the same in my head. And I can’t believe that after all the years I’ve been following you (and taking a few classes)I hadn’t heard your voice before. By the way, it is lovely. You obviously have wonderful classroom discipline because you still have a lovely voice after all the years of teaching. Your students are so lucky to have you! Hope this year is great for all concerned.

I often go through my stack of 12 journals (so far) and think of the inspiration which came straight from LA by special Dispatch.
oh chrissy i would love to behold that luscious stack of 12. when carol and i arrive at your fair isles one day we shall have tea and time to visit. i’ll insist upon it.
It’s lovely! The perfecft travel journal with the combination of things I love best – art, journaling, photos, pressed flowers, feathers, local ephemera, and stitching! I especially love the pockets on each end and the foldout little painted journal you made. On a personal note we are getting measurable rain here for the first time here in NW Montana in over two months. It won’t put out the fires, it it will help a bit.

so glad for your rain. the fires out in the west seem to get worse each year….
