pardon me, but i’m smack in the middle of a paper sewing frenzy.
oddly enough it began when my new swedish blurb book arrived in the mail. you can see a video flip through over on IG.
i seem to put blurb books together in clusters. most recently i completed sweden 2015 & amalfi coast 2008.
anyway something about pairing the photos together and immersing myself completely in that process, got me itching to make some sort of a handmade photo book.
with sewing. and collage.
sister had a birthday on the 11th and i made her a little artist’s book using some very old scraps i found in the bottom of a drawer.
then i made some little collage books with the 3rd graders last week.
so here i am folding cutting sewing.
batting around ideas for a new online offering. but not batting very hard. mostly in the idea development stage.
although today i did feel like i latched onto something very promising.
just thinking out loud here, nothing definite.
i received some stamps and maps in the mail from a very nice someone…
i will be sharing more photos tomorrow or the day after!
i haven’t sewn paper in a long long time.
it’s fun.

Ohhh, the anticipation begins to swell as soon as you mention a possible new class! You inspire us to try new things and have fun with it. I will be on the look out for future dispatches from over the hill!

If you do a new Sewn class it would be great if you also combined some contour drawings, watercolor and/or gouache. You are so talented at those things too and it would be great if you had a new class combining all of the things you like to do and we all love to see all of that too. Enjoy dreaming up something new!!

Happy dance at the thought of a possible new online class sometime in the future! Sewing/collaging is good fun.

LOL @ harpies. Can’t wait to see where you are going with this Mary Ann. Whatever it is, count me in!
One more week and wedding will be in the past and I can get back to being creative again. I miss it! I have been in a creative desert.

I just made two travel journals for my daughter and myself for our house hunting trip/vacation , and bought Ticket to Venice and Remains of the Day for inspiration. I have to say I had a ton of fun putting them together! I had never sewn paper before but it definitely will not be the last time I do it <3

I am liking where this seems to be heading! Books and stitching and old paper and photographs, mmm, mmm GOOD!
