a few last images from new mexico.
the flight from LA was so easy. less than 2 hours in the air.
i’m looking forward to getting out there on a regular basis. dottie pulled out all the stops and made so many delicious plant-based recipes for me to try.
the moss sisters are getting older.
when i started DFLA we were all in our 40’s, now dottie is getting ready to turn 60 in may.
there is a keen sense of the forward motion of time. how we lean in toward it now, instead of away.
dottie is the record keeper of the family. she has meticulously documented so much of our history.
how good to have a look at what she has assembled. to look at old photos, read old letters from ma & pa moss.
how mom & dad would have loved new mexico. the culture, the food, the bigness of the sky, dottie & christy’s house.
their recliners & rocker.
the comfortable nest they’ve created.
i’m halfway through spring break.
heading out tomorrow morn for santa barbara again.
the tides are perfect for dawn & dusk walks at the beach.
plenty of time for piddling at home once school resumes on monday.
there is magic in an open road with groves of oranges on either side.
farmstands with strawberries and honey. and a coffee date with one of my favorite peeps on the carpenteria coast.
see you in the morning sharron!

Have you seen any javelinas in NM? I saw a great video on YouTube of a guy’s backyard. One by one, the wild pigs came and left. They are marvelous animals!
(I am a bit biased; I love pigs).

Enjoying your NM views. It is one of my favorite places to visit because although part of the US, it feels so culturally different. And its beautiful too. I’ve been there 4 times in the last 5 years, but only the airport in Albuquerque. Always headed north. Enjoy trip 2-sounds like a great week.
