my sister wrote a cute birthday post in my honor. we’ll be together next weekend with our wingwoman pam in joshua tree for our 5th winter art retreat.

it’s my very last day of winter holiday.
last night i stepped outside to pivot my head back. yes, even in los angeles sometimes the sky looks lidless. like you could just float up and out towards those planets and stars embroidered on their endless velvet quilt.
when i wasn’t being set upon windowsills, i wonder if my toddler self ever looked up at the night sky. and if she did what did she think of all those tiny beams of light pointed down on the earth.
i will do more stargazing this year.
i will do more of everything.
i wonder what will you do, where you will go, what you will make? you’ll let me know.

i lived in panama from 1969-1975 when i was a lass of 6-12 no travel journals back then…
your daughter will surely have a GLORIOUS time. if she posts pics somewhere please let me know!
