friday night at home. drinking fruity tea.
happy new year! i must’ve said that 100 times today. earlier this week we painted black & red lanterns and wrote “happy new year” in black velvety characters down the page. one of the mandarin teachers showed me how to do it. then we hung them on the bulletin board outside the classroom. i think we will paint roosters next week.
thinking about climbing into my imaginary hot tub on the back patio. how nice that would be…
above, a little sketchbookery from this week.
i just walked outside. the sky is black with silver stars. crystal clear. cold. i spotted the orion nebula.
i think a lot about moving to a smaller city when i retire. the pacific northwest temps seem most agreeable, but i wonder if i would miss the sun. i think i would.
here’s where sister & i are going in july.
thaz all the news that’s fit to print!
hope you’re up to something good. looking through your telescopes, writing your memoirs, baking cakes, tapping your maple trees. that sort of thing.
Love these. They are sooo charming.
As I’ve told you before, I adore your painted squirrels. The snow bunny is adorable too. I’m heading up to my little Idaho home in a few days, there is tons of snow. Hope I see a bunny just like yours in my back yard.
I guessed W.I. too. But I think it is near by. Thankfully you’re going in July, because I’m pretty sure they have snow now.
Love the squirrels, Mary Ann! –Deb
Washington state is actually not as rainy as some think. We just tell people that so they don’t move here. Wink. Wink:). Looks like WI or Cam___? Both are stunningly gorgeous with the water and the snow capped mountains. Cannot go wrong. Love the bun buns and squirrels!
The Peacock saga is not having a happy ending. I am vv distressed and sad. And some people are stupid.
AHHH! I found where you are staying. Starts with an L:)
Mmmm! I think I know where you are going…..
Could it be W.I. ? I use initials so not to give it away…….. I love your squirrels. I too am watching the stars tonight and waiting for 20 20 on the tube as they are honoring Mary Tyler Moore tonight. I really loved her.
MTM!! i’m gonna watch with you 🙂
not W.I. good guess though!
I’ll take Whidbey Island for $100, Alex…
Yes, I wonder the same question; having lived in FL for the last 40 years. Will I miss the sun?
Only one way to find out. That’s a splendidly squirrelly squirrel (or two!)
questions & explorations. here we go!
