look what was on my front porch when i came home!
a lovely stack of books & supplies for the classroom. that was FAST.
i worked on
my amazon classroom wishlist
over the weekend, announced it here on DFLA saturday, and by the end of sunday night fully half of it had been gifted to us. i’m more grateful than i can say.
our sad little library is getting ready for its makeover and no one is more excited than the students of room 20.
no one.
i told them about my wishlist plan on friday and suggested they make a list of books they wanted to see in our classroom library. this is what they came up with. hee hee.
cake treats?
on sunday the very first package arrived – write/wipe pouches. i set them up this morning and by recess they’d already been put into use. brain twisters and other challenges for kids who finish their work early.
our class has a long way to go, but i’d say after our first full week together things are slowly coming together.
now i’m going to go eat some grapes.
thank you friends, for your fine fine gifts that will make a HUGE difference in day-to-day classroom life.

I have every single book in that list and more! My daughter is in college, she wants to be a teacher, when I came to USA my English wasn’t great and I knew books will help me and my then baby daughter, specifically children and YA books. anyways, she would love to donate her books to your class. I also I have a big box full of crayons.
If interested, please don’t hesitate I will keep coming to check for your reply.

Great Idea. I ordered mine today. DK books, I loved them when I was a kid. You are such a great teacher for these children! Wish we could clone you. They will remember you forever! Keep up the great lessons, Beth

I can surely tell you’re an inspiring teacher! Wish I had someone like you when I was at that age….I went to Catholic grade school back in the day….not inspiring at all! The nuns were scary people for a little kid. I survived. You inspire!

I’m happy to contribute. Do you have a list of books which haven’t been donated yet?

Just placed my order. I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the fun in your classroom and add to the library!! Took the liberty of adding some books that were not on the list, hope that’s okay!
Mary Ann Moss says
HECK yes that is fabulous! didn’t even know you could do that! THANK YOU
Rhonda Roebuck says
What a great idea!! Can you add how many students are in your class? Do you have any books on Lewis and Clark’s journals? I am looking for one that shows the actual pages so your kids can see how important journals are to history. I think every teacher in the world should have an Amazon wish list!! You are a jewel of a teacher!! Thank goodness people like you are in the classroom.
Rhonda

That was the most fun I had in a long time just looking at books and games. I have you covered on the intestinal process books. I bet those books will get some laughs. Hope your kids enjoy them. i wish I could remember the name of the stories my third grade teacher read to us. One series was about an older woman who had the most marvelous adventures like going to Mars. And I remember my teacher’s name was Mrs. Rodgers. Xoxo
Mary Ann Moss says
thank you violet cadburry bunny, your contributions will be wildly welcomed!

I know my little contribution isn’t in the pile because it takes many weeks to ship. I think they handwrite them. Then ship them. On a slow boat. Happy librarying!
Mary Ann Moss says
WHO KAYRES!!! if it takes 6 months we will still be happy to add your book to our pile. each one is a treasure.
big thanks xo
