i’ve been enjoying my copic markers lately!
howdy. popping in with some garden photos from yesterday. i joined descanso gardens. it’s only 15 min. away from moss cottage and a perfect place to walk. between all of my public gardens i racked up nearly 43k steps last week. not impressive if you’re on the 10k/day plan, but pretty damn good if your name is mary ann moss and you’re a recovering couch potato. finding pretty places to walk keeps me motivated.
the camelia forests at descanso are blooming and they are glorious. i walked around in a drunken trance. everything was wet with raindrops. the air smelled wild & sweet.
that’s all. it’s a school night and it’s nearly my bedtime. i’m climbing into bed to dream of lilac bushes and talking bears and giant rabbits and following trails of camelia petals.
but! before i go…trish sweeney sent me this link to a fantastic free strathmore class featuring the delightful graham smith. i watched the first video and was thoroughly charmed. if you’re a fan of the quirky strange & wonderful i don’t think you’ll be disappointed. not one bit!
sweet dreams. xo

Glorious photos! Fabulous…
Do Copic Markers bleed through the paper? For the uninformed (me)…
Mary Ann Moss says
yes they do, but they’re fabulous! not comparable in my opinion to water-based markers for “painting”
they also have a thick flexible brush tip

I have been alone a lot lately and I don’t enjoy it, but I have been so inspired by how you embrace your time alone and enjoy it so much. I plan on spending more time at the beach and other places I haven’t visited lately along with my journal and revisit them with a new perspective. Thank you! I also visited the Strathmore paper site and registered. Thank you for being such a generous teacher.

Oh what a glorious place. I am loving it all especially the coast oaks. I am taking Graham’s class. He is a crazy fun guy. I finally got it together with periscope ans saw your strawberry one after the fact. I signed on to your name but am not being alerted as to when to catch you. same with Micheles showings. I have been following her for years. She is just up the road from me (60 or so miles) and hope to take a class from her someday. Your walking miles is something to be very proud of lady. I know you got some gadget to record your steps . What was the name ocf it. I have forgotten and would love to get one if you still think it’s working well. Thanks

Hey great strawberries, I caught the periscope after the fact but so pleased I did. What a gorgeous place to take walks. If I had a place like that so close I know I do some walking too. My neighborhood is sadly boring…no other way to say it but thems the facts, plain and simple. I have to really drive quite a few miles to get someplace that is remotely interesting…such is the life of the burbs…but when I do find a wonderful place, I thoroughly dig in. Lovin’ the Copic play and now off to check out that video. Wishin’ you another happy day with the wee chimps.

How lovely. Ancient Forest, I like the magical sound of that. Lucky you to live close to this. And thanks for sharing about Graham’s class.

Thanks for taking us along to the garden! Wow! I was thrilled to find a patch of winter aconite here, yesterday. That’s the first flower with any color that blooms in my neighborhood……….. No lilacs for us for a few months.

Oh, my heart. Beautiful garden, beautiful flowers. Daffodils and crocus are just starting their spring show here in KC, and a huge magnolia tree at the end of our street has purple petals peeking perkily. Yay, spring! 🙂
