hello everyone! earlier this afternoon i did my 4th periscope. a flip through this old visual journal from 2011. @maggiesummers commented about wanting to know what i’d written, but i missed her comment. i thought it would be easier to get a second look here on the blog. so here you go… all the pages.
there’s a span of about 18 months here because i was working in a few different travel journals at the same time.
it’s not terribly exciting, but you can catch the broadcast at periscope tv for the next day or so. chrome browser seems to work better than safari. your mileage may vary.
although some have asked, i don’t post the videos anywhere permanently because that seems to defeat the whole purpose of periscope. spontaneous, flawed, quick broadcasts that are unedited & unpolished. thank goodness they’ll fade away in a day.
thanks to everyone who tuned in live and commented and tapped hearts on their screens. you’re awfully nice.

Seeing these fabulous pages makes me want to dive back into my sadly neglected visual journal! Can’t tell if you just journaled on the existing ledger pages or if this is one of your own handmade journals?

that’s a handmade journal – 140 # watercolor paper bound with a coptic stitch then glued into the existing covers…not easy to tell since i covered up all the watercolor paper with paint or paper!

goat cheese recipe. Add : butter + flour (same weight x2) + 1/2 cup of water – Mix with hands – put it in a fridge for half an hour – Roll on to make a thin slice of dough – Then put on : goat cheese + leeks (each in parts) + 2 eggs (omelette) – Put it in owen for about 40 or 45 minutes (hot as pie) – Taste it hot for diner or very cold (lunchbox) .

Once again, I love everything you do, then and now are equally beautiful, now is more pure, simpler, true-er. It’s all amazing.

Much prefer what you do now, but there was nothing wrong with what you did then. It just seems like a nice development.

So much color and spontaneity! Love the loaded pages. I’m inspired by the twists and turns your creative life has taken over the years, and yet you stay true to your deepest values I think. Beautiful!
