it was blustery and cool today. tall clouds roamed the sky.
i went for a walk under great magnolia trees
coffee-colored seed pods. won’t they be fun to paint?!
waving palm fronds
in another month or so the aloes will bloom.
in the meantime there are cactus roses springing to attention
red leaves fluttering down from on high
that’s me. walker person in the making.
the rain has freshened everything under the sun.
all the members of the animal & plant kingdom in LA just took a nice long drink. ahhhhh.
i was just sitting down to eat some strawberries when the mailman came.
hmmmm. what’s this?
what have we here?

What a great walk. Such pretty things to photo and paint. And that pressing! Lucky girl. I’ve been enjoying the darling hearts on Instagram.

How beautiful is that handmade gift from Mary! She is so talented! I love the photos of your walk, and am impressed that things are still blooming. Here in the NW we are digging up our bulbs for next year and pruning trees. We had our first frost last night. As usual, I felt sorry for my horse. She is the only member of the family that has to stay out in the cold weather. I always wish I could bring her in the house! I do blanket her if it gets too cold though. She’s an old lady like me, so I spoil her as much as I can. On the last pic you posted of those coral red pods….I think quin coral might be the perfect color to paint those? I still need to get some! Thanks for the gorgeous pics of your much warmer climes, Mary Ann!

What a lovely, beautiful gift! What a gift it is to have a friend who cares enough to make such a gift. You win and win again! And it makes me happy to think of it, and you. And Mary,
