still roaming around up here. just dropping in to send a smoke signal. weather on the mendocino coast is brilliant in september. i’ve previously just been in the winter when it is foggy & atmospheric. a sharp contrast to the crystalline air and deep clear water of now…thankfully there is still enough wisps of fog to keep me satisfied. we are on the move and on the sit. plenty to see from these headlands. today a black oystercatcher on the rocks below our bench. the milky way continues to dazzle. oh beautiful world!
some of the photos are with my iphone. not the greatest, but good enough for an overall impression.

Seaglass treasure! Is there anything more fun than going seaglass hunting? Well, it’s at least in the top five funnest things ever. Particularly when you find the blue stuff.

This is the part of the coast I’ve never visited. How far is this from Bodega Bay? Farther north?
Love, love the sea glass, the turquoise is my favorite. The place you’re staying looks marvelous. You do manage to find great digs for your adventures. Any good eats? What about art? Is sister keeping you in line MAM?

This has nothing to do with anything, but, have you seen this? Wow. it’s all I’ve got to say. But you know what? I love your art more. His is amazing, but yours makes me “feel” what it’s about. Sorry, I’m probably not explaining myself very well! Hope you and Carol are having a great time. thank you for sharing your adventures with us.

The light in all of your photos is amazing! I can’t tell which pics are from the cell phone. You have a good eye! I also love the blue green sea glass the best. Thank you for so many captured moments. I adore the little diorama of the village…the teeny houses are adorable! And anything to do with shipwrecks is so fascinating and sad and mysterious. Looks like you are getting plenty of exploring in. Have you been painting/sketching much? Cannot wait to see. But the LIGHT! Glorious!

Love it all (especially the boardwalk under the tree tunnel, the cliffs, and the beach glass)! Thanks for sharing, as always!
PS: Random observation: I believe I am wearing the same black/white plaid shirt today. Comfy. 🙂

More wonderful photos. What a fantastic journey you are on. Love reading about the old ship. What a graceful ship she was. The sea glass especially the light blue has me feeling very envious. Fog I love it too but not when I was sailing. Had a 30 foot sailboat and had a scary experience just off one of the San Juan Islands. But many great years sailing the San Juans , Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound. Travel on and keep those photos coming. Have fun!
