i zipped over to koreatown early this afternoon for some korean fried chicken.
heading through mid-wilshire towards KyoChon on 6th street.
i could have, but didn't stop at macarthur park to see if donna summer's cake was still left out in the rain from our last storm.
no time for dat!
the place was jam packed and i didn't feel like waiting for a table.
so i jumped back in my car with the chicken and stepped on the gas for the 25 minute ride back home.
i ordered the sal sal strip combo. crispy puffed rice deliciousness with apple & honey mustard dipping sauce. v.v. good.
KyoChon just serves chicken, none of the standard panchan side dishes.
good enough to make a 2nd trip? definitely!

Your photos are making me excited for our trip west….You will no doubt find me looking straight up at all the top heavy appearing palm trees. I could almost just stand there and look at them all day. I am pumped. 🙂

Good God, woman! I haven’t had my breakfast yet….and now all this talk of food makes me ravenous….
Loved that song sung by Donna Summer…and none of us has that particular recipe …again…At least, I sure don’t.
Memory lane….the sweet and bittersweet of it.
That food looks too delicious, MAM.
Gonna’ go get mine…
See ya’

Donna Summers and the cake out in the rain cracked me up! Nice flashback…thanks for that! That dish looks so yummy that my photo would have been of an empty plate…I would have eaten it on the ride home or in Donna’s park!

Ah sister the folk group in panama used to sing MacArthur park in our rehearsal sessions but the Richard Harris version. Dottie what was the name of the girl who played the piano? She was amazing. Oh those were the days!!

25 min.trip to get take out food? Yikes. It looks delicious. I’ve only tried Korean food once. Didn’t know what I was ordering, so wasn’t thrilled with my choices. I’ll have to get this combo when I try it again. I would have been tempted to head for Pho Saigon next door…love that stuff.!
Love the photos of street scenes in L.A. Spent some time in the Wilshire District when I was young. We loved to shop at the Farmer’s Market. (Disneyland was a new attraction back then!)

What Wendy said! And you struck a nerve, a good one, with the mention of Donna Summers! I love to dance and used to love watching disco dancers, a bit before my time, but I loved it and my aunts would dance all the time in their house, big time FUN!

Looks delicious! I have never tried Korean food.
