gouache scenes from the last couple of days. you know how i like to get my mind in a hamster wheel stuck on one thing!
unlike some people i only have one hamster wheel inside my head though, not 6. i have to call the movers and have them take it away and bring in another in order to switch directions.
that's what i like about you. you just let me float around doing whatever pleases me and you keep coming back to say hi. i like that. i like it a lot.
hope you're spinning in your own wheel(s). happily absorbed in your own creative cycle.
you'll let me know what it is, of course…

Not in the mood to make art right now…reading like crazy, dreaming big…living in my head mostly.

Hi! I love visiting your blog to see what you’re up to. Right now I’ve got the quilting bug…so that’s what I spend most of my time doing right now.

I meant horizontal, not horizongal!

Hi there! Just started working/playing on my 24 x 36 canvas, my biggest to date. I got one horizongal stripe painted! Soon it will be time to watch General Hospital and play in my art journal. Thanks for asking!

squeak, squeak, squeak… hamster wheel fully engaged here too… been sketching with prismacolor pencils on brown kraft paper although limited to indoor inspiration as here in northern New England there are still patches of snow with nary a green leaf in sight and day time temps stuck in the 40s … sigh. Love your gouache work – whatever pleases you pleases me too!

Remember that song “The wheels on the bus go round and round”? Speaking of – I’ve been adding to a paper chain made from magazine covers. It’s about sixty feet long now and is draped vertically over the stair rail and the sheer volume, texture, and color makes me happy. Wish I could show you.

I just love what you do! Sooooo much! The skies are still not quite sunny enough yet here in PA, and you and your paintings really cheer me up and give me hope that I may yet again do that occasional drawing!

Spinning wheel 1: Gardening here. Bought plants today and will get them in the ground tomorrow. Making brick garden paths. Painting garden furniture. General spring sprucing up. 🙂
Spinning wheel 2: Art Journal group played with pastels this month.
Need LOTS more practice before anything is useable. 😉

Pretend this is a post on the pictures from school that the children made. Mary Ann, I hope you know what a magnificent gift you are to those children and what a HUGE impact you are making. They, each of them, will remember you for their entire life as the teacher who taught them they could. I am not kidding. It is so brilliant and fabulous – steep in that knowledge of all that you are giving to these lucky little monkeys.

Meant to go to a show at the Bellevue Art Museum to see my friend’s collage on Madeleine Albright but the three of us forgot the museum is closed. So….we went looking for ephemera at a couple of places one of us knew all about and we all found treasures And had a great time. And laughed a lot. It’s something like 77 degrees here (Seattle area!!!) today and feels like summer. We lunched, we shopped, we laughed. We had a great time! I’m just as happy as a pig in mud.

the hamster wheel in my brain is propelling me towards knitting sweaters and sewing dresses. round and round i go…knit knit knit…stitch stitch stitch. it’s been the same for months.
and i know from experience that before too long it’ll switch and i’ll be painting or embroidering or cutting & pasting.
i like that my brain isn’t limiting me to one creative pursuit.
