around 6ish p.m. scattered raindrops hit the ground. i could smell the rain, but it was a weak little front.
this is what the sky was doing around 7ish p.m.
i sat in front of the window and watched the show.
whose apricot colored sky is this?
to whom do the fringed tree branches belong?
you know who.
maybe him.
or her.
i brought them inside with my lamy al-star fountain pen and my noodlers black eel ink.
to live here on the pages of my sketchbook.
then i colored them in a bit with a wet brush and a dab of watercolor.
the light is flat and grey, then dazzling, fiery. coral! all that.
it is still winter. but barely. i'm drinking a harvest pumpkin ale because the label is the same color as the sky.
if mama moss were still alive i'd call her and ask her what the sky looked like in kansas tonight.
but i'll ask you instead.
hello! what was your sky doing at 7ish p.m.?

Mine was doing the same thing.

I adore your little chirps, all sweet and wonderful. Your sketches always make me grin. Our sky was brilliant blue all day right up until the sun said good night…not a cloud made an appearance until dusk…all our snow is gone and it’s been pushing 60 all week, rare for mid March in these parts….Your skies I think get the best color award, no questions need be asked…that apricot is gorgeous. I’m curlin up here to watch, best patch of grass on the web 😉

It was so wonderful. I saw it more as flame, but apricot can look flamey. Lamy? And we had a rainbow. I packed IG up with all sorts of pictures that didn’t capture it at all.
yay!

Lots of clouds and rain. No yellow or any other color than grey/black. Lovely views out your windows.

Flying into Mexico City just as the sun was setting. Bands of coral, lemon yellow, fire-y orange against dark, charcoal clouds. It was spectacular! I loved seeing how small ponds of water caught the colors and flug them back towards the sky. And the amazing city below was glowing with street lights and tail lights of the cars, forming grid lines. Worth the price of the plane ticket and I hadn’t even landed!

My sky was laughing it’s ass off by 7:00, happily having pulled off a pre April fool’s gottcha, made us believe all day that rain was on its way… Only to say at sunset with a big golden burst, “nope, no way….”

Lots of blue, blue sky here in KC this week. A wonderful preview of spring. Lots of garden work for me, and my first purchase of pansies and lettuce plants of the season. Oh, and lots of house finches at my bird feeders. 🙂

Same exact sky. For real. LOL. It was great, wasn’t it? I caught it as I got off the gold line at Heritage Square. Glorious mountains, too!

Big fat rain drops were falling from the Seattle sky tonight as I pulled into my driveway.

Our sky was not so dramatic. A cloud layer made the day gray and rather bleak. But that’s OK, it’s going to be near 90 by the weekend. That’s way too hot for March temps.
Love, love the birdies and the sunset photos. I’ve got quite a collection of clouds and sunsets myself. Treasures.

Always feel happy seeing your pretty birds.
Our sky was magnificent as I was on my evening walk. On one side it was fashionable fabric stripes of horizontal blue/grey clouds with alternating clear sky blue as the sun was setting behind the hills. On the other side some yummy apricot/strawberry smoothie concoction with scattered milky clouds..It was quite striking and unusual tonight. We’re about an hour north of you.)
