sister & i just finished another long art making session on facetime. it's fun, that.
a long stretch of uninterrupted sketchbookery. art making with another person seems to do a good job of keeping my focus on what i'm doing instead of whirring off around the house on urgent missions of great unimportance. i can get involved at times in an endless loop of foolish business. although i do think some time wasting is essential to the creative process in general.
i found some little pots for my grafted cactus. i placed them on the kitchen table nestled in among a knick knack factory. safely resting atop a doily from mama moss. never in a bazillion years could i have ever imagined myself in possession of a knick knack factory.
the purple hyacinths in the sink are one of my favorite scents. they are currently filling moss cottage with perfume. that smell combined with the knick knack patty wack could give one the impression that a 95 year old lady lives here. perhaps i need a crystal candy dish with some lemondrops inside. what say you?
happy sunday friends. hope you're happily tinkering about, rearranging your ceramic bird collections, and baking cookies. or something!

I love that Isaak gave you a used copy of The Artist’s Way… Every EXCELLENT creative teacher should have an Isaak in her life.❤️

You just make me smile Mary Ann…. Every single time. I can see by your fabo sketches that you spent some serious playtime….and all those matters of serious importance can be pushed to the wayside, unless of course it involves reading, nibbling on something amazing or going on walkabout in one’s own backyard…….and hey guess who has a new family member…we do… We have the sweetest kiiter cat living with us. Her name is Tiger Lily…though I’ve been calling her Zazzles, Bazinga and when I use her given name it’s been shortened to Tiger Girl. We adopted her from our local humane society. She is a 6 yo short hair and she is adorable. Very sweet and social. Now it’s just a matter of her and the resident queen pooch to get acquainted which we’ve been doing a little bit at a time. She has lived with other cats and dogs but even so we are making this a slow transition since miss fibi has only lived briefly with other animals. I’ll have to send you a peek. So far we adore her.

“urgent missions of great unimportance”
I love these words…how I spend my downtime. I think I will gather a knickknack factory and focus. Great inspiration MAM.Thank You.

Loving the birds and facetime is making me miss my sister , who breast cancer took . She flew away on a sunny sunny day.
The lemon drop comment made me laugh out loud , the sarcasm is always appreciated in our household. When my kids were being reared I had a little sign on the fridge that stated “sarcasm is just part of my service!”
Keep it up flip flop. See?

I have a well stocke nick-nack warehouse 🙂 so if your factory slows down, I share. I even have ceramic birds and doilies but it is a secret.

Those birds are the bomb! I am just having a visual party here with all of this pattern and color, I am lovin it, this makes me want to redo my whole house so I can find pattern in it to inspire me to sktechbookery again!! Actually, I love the comment about how the time with your sister keeps you from doing other foolish things. I spend waaaay too much time on facebook when I could be sketching , the way I have been dying to for weeks and months. I’m gonna do it! MAKE ART!
