I know this sounds strange but sometimes I wonder what your painted birds are thinking (does this striped muffler make me look fat?, for example).
HiHiHi MaryAnn: ) Happy Monday to you and yours (birdies, catboy, etc) !!! hope you remembered to “spring-forward” hahaha : ) can’t believe my post of yesterday didn’t appear ??? I was the first to comment and probably hit “preview” instead of “post” silly me : ) anyway, wanted to say how happy I was to see you re-surface and in such a grand and happy style !!! lovelove your birdie(s) and your new gouache colors – someone gave me a set a long time ago thinking I knew what to do with them – sooo what do I do with them ?? use them instead of watercolor ?? blasphemy – hahaha : ) got them out last night and played a bit to find I think – maybe – I like them ???
Soooo, have a fab week, stay alert and lots of petting for catboy : )

I like your birds. I was trying to figure out how to paint a bird’s black eye if the feathers around the eye are black. Your example solved my problem!
Loving the Dimitri Bouchene study. Especially the rich greyed colors with the bright blues and white….and…..the hibiscus is an amazing color….sometimes seeing through another’s eyes is breathtaking. Thank you!!
