SKETCHBOOKERY promo new from MAM on Vimeo.
I've put together a new promo video for the December session of SKETCHBOOKERY! I added and subtracted a few things and changed the music. Registration begins in about a week. If you want to get an email reminder you can go to the site and register for the email list. I'm delighted to jump back into my Chief Chimp in Charge duties for a new batch of sketch monkeys. Registration will open bright & early on November 24th and stay open until January 1st, when it will close for the season. I've been busy at the website shining the windows and waxing the floors for the newcomers. I do love preparing for a new online class adventure.
Moss Cottage is scented with freesia. I bought a Sunday bouquet.
Catboy steals the new desk chair every chance he gets. I allow it.
Last week I saw a charming little tutorial for making watercolor cut-out flowers. Since I was already swimming through a stream of watercolor flowers I dog-paddled over and partook of it.
You can discover it's delights for yourself right HERE.
I am continuing to read aloud from The Country of the Pointed Firs.
In the life of each of us, I said to myself, there is a place remote and islanded, and given to endless regret or secret happiness; we are each the uncompanioned hermit and recluse of an hour or a day; we understand our fellows of the cell to whatever age of history they may belong.
I make a cup of Tazo passion tea each evening and sit in my darkening living room while I read. Oh the pleasure!
From my cozy wildish lair to yours, Happy Sunday. Whatever you're secret happiness might be, I hope you're savoring it.

Love the freesias. Love the watercolor flower cutouts. Love your catboy. We have a matching catboy at our house who is named Cattail. His sisters are Lily (his twin), Daisy and Ivy. Yes, I am on the cusp of being a crazy cat lady. 😉

Your floral play is like a window thrown open to the sun and since it’s single digit temps here in the land of snow and ice, a much appreciated moment and all that color is just pouring in. Love it all. Your future workshop attendee’s are gonna have an extra special blast in your class. I’m gonna have to revisit all those videos and see what kind of watercolor trouble I can get into. 🙂

I like the new video very much; I’m already in the class, but i found myself getting excited about it all again just watching. Watercolor simplified – a needed thing.

You have a good life. Thank you for sharing it and making us glad to know you through this site. You feel like a good dear friend. Comfortable and unique in your own skin and fine with others in theirs. I spent the whole day in my greenhouse. I am building a mosaic on an 8 x 12 foot wall. Having never done anything like this before I am going slow and attempting to use mostly re-purposed orts and oddments. I shop at the Habitat for Humanity Restore. Leftover tiles are very inexpensive and fun to smash up. I have old plates and discarded bric a brac from who knows where, because I saved things thinking I would one day attach them to something. I even have tesserae from my Grandmother! Pretty colors too. It’s fun and a little scary at the same time. I’m lovin your flowers and watercolors and also thinkin about your up coming class for a chimp like me! Hope you have a lovely week.

Dear companioned and uncompanioned hermit. Isn’t Willa Cather wonderful? To capture the spirit and eloquence of our
Thinking as she does. I have read, The Country of the Pointed Firs probably three times total. Each time a different epoch
In my life, but every time such profound reasonance. An evening with her is well spent.

Enjoying a little glass of Cali port I brought back from my visit there and reading three file folders of email my mother printed in the early 90’s when we would could go a month without being on the computer. (most popular sentence to start an email: I booted the computer this afternoon and found 4 letters!) Our extended family wrote to each other using the cc “function”. I’m enjoying the trip back in time, but a little distressed to read how often my dog puked in those days.
