i woke up to see bands of clouds marching across the sky! a rare and welcome sight that streams hope into the hearts of drought weary angelenos. this is the view from my new desk. where i sit on this fine mild day and paint wide swaths of pumpkin colored guoache in my sketchbook.
it's fun to have a new spot from which i can study this oak that is possibly the oldest thing on this street. older than all the houses, people, and other trees. it dwarfs my neighbor's house.
you're probably making a peach cobbler for me that you'll bring over later.
aren't you? i'll put the coffee on and we can eat a hunk together on the porch.

what are you talking about sharon? buck is still RIGHT HERE and will love and appreciate the nip v.v. much!
Susie LaFond says
oooooohhhhhhh Love that view, gorgeous. I’m not making a cobbler but I do have a huge batch of home-made chili simmering up a storm on the stove, how does that sound?) I have a great recipe for corn bread too but not sure if I’ll get that made or not…time being what it is I want to spend at least a few hours in my journals…so toss up..do I make the corn bread or do I journal????? I know what my family would say hands down. However that would also mean I have to run up to the store since I don’t have all the ingredients I need like the cream that is in it..but ya know the more I sit here and right about it, I’m thinking how dang good it is….hmmmmm now I’m thinkin I need to make it…it’s going to be on my mind now for the rest of the day……puttin on my chef’s hat again for another hour or 2….;)

Oh Mary Ann I meant Wyatt. So sorry. I am sure Buck is getting his rightful share of nip over that rainbow bridge. So sorry.
sharon chapman says
Would you settle for apple & berry pie and a little catnip for Buck? If I could pass through the TSA I’d be there. Happy Sunday.
Joan says
I sure wish I lived closer to you, I’d bring the peach cobbler, ice cream, and chit chat. I make a mean peach cobbler if I do say so myself.
We got the wind yesterday evening, supposed to bring in the lower temps…wind yes, lower temps, NO…it’s still 80 freaking degrees here. We’re in our 15th year of drought. Heard the weather guy say that we’re -3 inches for our annual 4 inches average…no end in sight. In the meantime Lake Mead is shrinking lower than it was in 1939 when they filled the lake! If you know a rain dance please do it for the Mojave desert.

Oh I too would happily bring over a peach cobbler if I lived close enough! Wishing you some rain (we are getting snow)and a happy Sunday.

I wonder if your dear sister ever tires of seeing her butt sticking in the air. Had to revisit “Atotonilco”. Is it still a mystery or what?
Janet Ghio says
I love that pumpkin color! Yummy! I just finished reading the book “Rust” which one of your readers recommended and I think it is one that you have chosen to read. It is wonderful!! I loved it.
Diana says
Hope you get rain – that would be great weather for eating cobbler. 🙂
Vicki Styons says
No peaches available around here but there are generally plenty of clouds. We sometimes have a rain deficit but we still have plenty clouds!
Marcia G. says
How about some pumpkin muffins with some chopped walnuts in ’em?? Those go great with some fresh coffee!! Oh and I used some pumpkin pie spice, too, so it smells great in here. Ah, the smells of fall treats are so wonderful. Makes my heart light! Hope y’all got some rain out of those clouds. It’s dry here, too, so a few rain drops here would be welcome. 🙂 And while I’m wishing, let’s ask for just a teensy bit cooler temps so that soup/chili start appearing on the menu regularly around my house.
jacki long says
I would if I could!
Boy that sounds good!
Mmmm, peach cobbler,
can I bring vanilla ice cream?
Wendy Frances Milone says
I love lemonade. My mom always baked a peaches and cream cake for me on my birthday. I’ve been practicing my baking skills. I need more practice. I love to bake.

I would love to live close enough to bring and share with you a peach cobbler. It’s Apple season here in Michigan…how about Apple crisp or baked caramel apples?
