i try not to read too much into my wacky sketches, but damned if i don't see 2 black sheep in the shadows on the left. or 2 giant dogs with floppy ears. hmmmmm
we had a rare summer rainstorm last night. the air is breezy and tropical. just right for an afternoon of sloth-like maneuvars. in case you didn't know, time always slows to a crawl before it speeds up again. this is the beginning of the end of my summer vacation. i'll just be here. pretending that the one-week vacation i've been dreaming of all summer just started today.
you're doing something good too. aren't you?

Yes I see the black poodles and they’re heading up the steps toward that giant pretzel in the upper right hand corner. Such fun!

Enjoy your dreamy week. I didn’t realize school went back so early in the States. In Canada it’s not until after the first long weekend in Sept. Your black ‘splotches’ look ever so much like beautiful standard poodles to me. xoDonna

Make sure you enjoy that last week to the full!

Wishing you ring every bit of relaxation and good times out of each and every day. I know you will pack them with as much as you can along with following the sweet ebb and flow of unscheduled time…that last bit before it snaps back to reality. Hoping you get another super duper class of kids. Seems like you had a very special group last round. Enjoy your week Sweet Mary Ann.

Do you have a permanent classroom or are you still in substitute mode? I hope you get a great class as you had the last term with motivated kids who love learning AND art.
We got a bit of rain here at last! The next few days will be below 100F, a welcome relief from this anti heat person.
I do see the black sheep in your sketch, no dogs tho.
Are you just hanging out for this last week of summer? No plans?
Lida says
Just an FYI, your section at the bottom of each post called “what you might like”, the links are not working. Wanted to go to a couple but I got nothing.

Oh, I dread that week.(I have 3 weeks left and they’re gonna fly!) But I love that week too because you still have a week. Make a super spectacular one and enjoy every moment.

Oh my, as a retired teacher, I recognize the dreams of going to school with no clothes, but for me, it was never able to find my schedule and looking for a math class. As an artist and art teacher, I can tell you that a math class would be a nightmare!! Good luck to all those teachers about to head back in 2 or 3 weeks! You are the most valuable people in our society!!
Chris says
yay.
So, Bonnie is asking me about taking the sketchbookery class and now I have to go look at it again. I know there are three prices and it’s almost like there are three lengths or places or languages or something but anyway I’m going over there. to the workshop thing and pick out which of the three I want, but first I wanted to come here and say:
yay.
for the vacation.
Linda Watson says
They’re definitely sneaking up the steps, I think.
Wasn’t the rain great? It smells good.
I’m spending the day trying to save a weaving I screwed up. Sure is easier to save a Sketchbookery boo boo.

That’s called serendipity. When your shadows serve dual purposes. Way to go:)

Maybe they were the ones who knocked on the door! So loved your sketches! Have wonderful week! Fall always feels like things slow down….I hope your year is a special one and you have lots of joy and inspiration!
gretchen says
I seen them? I can haz typo… should read “I see them” in my previous comment.
gretchen says
Yes! Yes! I seen them! Looks like two floppy eared dogs to me and the left one even has its arm around the one on the right. May your “one-week vacation” slow to a crawl and be filled with happy moments worthy of sketching.

Hi! Wondering if you have your assignment for next year yet? This week I’ll probably start dreaming about going to school with no pants on and other horrifying things…Gonna make the most out of this week, yes I am!
