saturday at home. back from the desert. wandering around in a daze trying to figure out where the turquoise pool has gone. nighttime stargazing while floating on one's back in warm water is extremely excellent.
the other night in palm springs i accidently deleted about 15 of you who signed up to be on the mailing list for the next session of Sketchbookery in december: diane, linda, claudia, penelope, ruth, shawn, anne, misti, elaine, jean, kristine, kay, tuey, kathy, and chris. i wrote your names down ahead of time just in case i was making a mistake. unfortunately i didn't capture your email addresses. whoops. obviously, a chimp is at the helm of this operation. if you STILL want to sign up go HERE.

OOOOh I love the one week vacation mindset.
Just returned from the great northwest and a most excellent visit with my brother. We spent a couple of days at Mt. St. Helens, one of my bucket list items. Wow. I was speechless for 2 says, a first for me.
Best wishes for a great year, driven by helping students and being inspired by them. xxx

I am waiting for the day when the thought of drawing a Mexican bird of paradise in brown ink on top of a turquoise pool of water surrounded by warm gray concrete will pop into my head spontaneously. Luckily I can look here and get ideas while I am waiting for my own internal genius to develop.

Now you’re drawing the plants that live in my neck of the high desert! Mexican Bird of Paradise thrives here as well.
Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory has a spectacular collection of cacti on their grounds. They decorate the cacti at Christmas season…really something to see in Las Vegas.

I am not one of the people you mentioned, but if I wanted to sign up where is the class cost listed?

I adore your opuntia painting. I love those cacti. Your colors are perfect. Your warm nights in the pool remind me of same when I was in PS once, several lifetimes ago (like late 50s). The water was warm…there was cool water running out of a pipe under the diving board and I stayed right there for the longest time, letting the cool water run over my head. Such a pleasurable experience. Have a great weekend! xo
