painting norwegian scenes from photos i took in bergen a couple of summers ago.
and also between yesterday and today i may have watched all 6 episodes of Happy Valley.
Your drawing with a paintbrush is really coming along. The last image is especially nice – moody and atmospheric even though is is a very simple composition and has little detail beyond what is necessary for the building. Fist to five? you get a five!
We must have been watching Happy Valley at the same time – finished episode 6 about 2:45am this morning – practically went straight through! Watched the final season of The Killing last weekend same way. Love those actors!
Working on finishing my travel journal to Helsinki & the Balkans these days. It was such a wonderful & effortless travel adventure! I highly recommend it be added to your list of places to go.

Painting and British TV…It sounds like a perfect weekend? I’ve been back to the full swing of the school year for two weeks and have not found an iota of time for any personal art related activities and it’s making me sad. I’ll live vicariously through you. These are wonderful!
Happey Valley it is for me this coming week! I’ve seen Sarah Lancashire all over the place these days, and any show set in Yorkshire is all right for me. I lived there for 7 years!!! ’bout time those Southerns see it in all its beauty.

Watched it all Friday night…Oh! Sarah Lancashire is also in Last Tango in Halifax. The Fall is on Netflix as well and very good. I love that you’re revisiting old photos to sketch. May have to dig out my photos of Vienna!

Oh, my. Happy Valley was some series. Probably good to watch in one go. We watched it as it was on tv. But, because of being away on holiday, ended up with a two week break between episodes 4 and 5! And, yes, Jam and Jerusalem is very funny.
Me, too…only it was last weekend. Ordered from Amazon uk, waited til I got to my little cabin and binged on Sarah Lancashire. She is just terrific! So much fun. Have you seen all of the Vera’s…loved them, too. How about Murder in Paradise with Ben Miller…great fun. Have recently re-watched Jam & Jerusalem, cracks me up every time. Bergen is a beautiful city, and I love Norway. It is one of my favorit places for a holiday in the mountains. When my friend and I travel, we go by car with a minicamper on the roof of the car, and we camp in the wilderness.It is a primitiv and simple way of living in nature and I just love it.
