early afternoon in the kitchen laboratory. putting finishing touches on a lettering video for sketchbookery. pam came up a couple of days ago to add to my lettering segment. which i didn't plan to even have. i just thought of it at the last second. the idea factory in my head doesn't quit working once class starts. i think of something last minute and i haul out the video camera, tell the cats to go shine their shoes, comb their tails and we're back in business.
she's featured in 5 of about 50 total videos. you come to moss cottage you get bossed. that's the deal. i would have been a really good border collie. i have a herding mentality.
here are some of pam's arty pages including her new sketchbook on top that i like a lot. THIS one. nice thick paper and it lays completely flat.
the classroom doors are closing later tonight. for those that are interested (and it's totally okay if you're not!) not to worry, in december it will be offered again.
okay. now. where did i put my ear plugs? fireworks start in a few hours and if you live in highland park, you know what that means. get your flak jacket out, your helmet, earplugs, and plan to hunker down in your cave till 4 am or so when it will be safe to climb into your bed without fear of a rocket launched M-80 whizzing through your window.
happy 4th american friends!

Oh, I’m enjoying your class so so much. Your quiet little abode is so dreamy and I just love hearing all the tinkling things while listening to and watching you play! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us. <3

I follow your blog and love it. You are so talented! I saw this blog title and was intrigued as I am at this moment trying to get my kids to bed but they are too scared, crying because actual rockets are being aimed and launched in our direction. We are just waiting for the siren to tell us to move to the bomb shelter. Wish we had fireworks and celebrations instead…
The class sounds so fun, good luck!

I’m in for December! Toooo much craziness & travel & kiddos this summer–even though sketchbookery would iron some of the chaos out. I will have my nose pressed to the Instagram #sketchbookery glass.

Looks wonderful. Yep, our neighborhood here is an interesting place to live. I didn’t hear any sirens; did you? Kept a watch on Kite Hill, but no fire this year. Guy in the back was setting off M-80s at 2 a.m. however. Gotta love it.

I’m loving everything about class, rockets blazing trails across the sky. I’ve been messing with the watercolors a bit and hopefully I’ll get an hour or 2 to actually sketch something this weekend…been painting our upstairs bath and DD’s bedroom, plus lofting her bed all dorm room style at home….so house is a disaster area. NOw if we are talking the mini fireworks war goin’ on outside..I’m with you, maybe by 3am or so it might quiet down. it’s like our neighbors are trying to out do each other on whose gotten the best and biggest ‘illegal’ fireworks in the neighborhood. DD and I walked down to where we could see our local park’s display and on the way home we saw a huge one go off right over our house and I know exactly who set it off….I’ve got naughty neighbors. In MN, nothing is supposed to leave the ground or explode….ha yeah right…our poor dog doesn’t know where to go when it gets like this, she is literally under my feet shaking’ like a leaf and this will go on all weekend and probably till mid July or so…we turned on the AC even tho it’s not that hot but it helps with noise reduction. Happy 4th,Mary Ann, gonna hunker down with some popcorn, and a cocktail and watch a movie or maybe 2.

Fab-u-lous! Having a great time in class; I cannot claim the same of my dogs who are currently tranquilized and clutching onto my lap like there was no tomorrow. I wonder what Audubon Society’s stance is on all these suburbanites who sign papers that they are (despite outward appearances to the contrary) ‘farmers purchasing fireworks to scare off the birds in their crops’? This allows you to buy mortars in my state. Also, for good southern fun, we can play the game “fireworks, or drunk redneck with gun?” (I do live in Floriduh, after all) I sincerely hope my songbirds come back tomorrow – I have filled up the birdbaths and feeders to reassure them!

Signed up just under the wire…super excited. I think it may have been a 4th of July registration for my first MAM class where I watched the videos all night.
