If you’re a password-carrying member of any of my Typepad classes and were registered prior to June 1, 2014 via the old blog over on Typepad, the end is near. I’ve put up notices on all of the old classroom blogs so that you have PLENTY of advance warning. If you have projects you haven’t finished there’s no time like the present to get started. Or wait a year if you want, there’s no rush. Really! In January of 2016 your access to the class blogs will end. Depending on how you look at it, that’s 18 months, 72 weeks, 540 days, 12,960 hours away. Either way you slice it, it’s a loooong time. You will still have access to the Flickr group associated with each class.
I’m planning to move this blog, DFLA, over to WordPress sometime this summer. I closed registration on all of my classes back in May. Recently Full Tilt Boogie & Sewn have been accepting new class members over at their new home on WordPress. If you registered on Typepad prior to June 1, 2014 for STENCILRY, ROD, FTB, SEWN, or TTV, your class blog is exactly where you left it and isn’t going anywhere for the next 18 months. During this overlap time I have a set of class blogs on WordPress and another on Typepad. But of course, once DFLA is gone from Typepad I’d rather not pay my membership dues indefinitely.
When I decided to make access to all of my classes unlimited back in 2009 I was clear to state that if I ever decided to close up shop I’d give you a jumbo sized notice in advance. It’s in the FAQ of each of the class blogs and on the class information page that every student reads prior to registering.
If you registered for a class under the new membership-based system, this does not apply to you.
Even so, if by January of 2016 you have unfinished projects in any of the classes please see the info about class extensions i’ve posted HERE.
