these are the only pages in my travel journal with photos. originally i had decided against using any, but in the end when i got home i was too lazy to finish adding sketching to those pages. the second something starts to feel like a chore is the second i stop doing it. so the photos are an easy way to cover up the leftover white pages. i am never going to keep another travel journal that i do not write the dates in beforehand. once in amsterdam, it eliminated fretting about how much space to leave if i didn't finish a particular day's entry. some days for example, i only had enough time to get the writing done. that's the most important thing to me because i don't like a recall style of writing – writing about an event long after it's past. i like it to feel more immediate. just a personal preference. on days where i had more time, and there were plenty of those, i would go back to that particular day's section and add sketches/postcards/paper/whatever. and well, any blanks that were left. you see how i handled those.
i'm heartbroken. i've watched all the vera there is to see until series 3 is released. i just adore her quirky personality. so it's back to finishing up call the midwife, which is quite sweet and wonderful. thanks sharron with 2 r's, for telling me about it!

Check out Doc Marten on Netflix to catch up. you do have to watch from the start or it is ruined and “Last Tango in Halifax”, definitely have to watch season 1 from the start.

Ooooo eye candy! Gotta say, I have loved watching how you’ve evolved over the years…and how your blog has, too! Hands down – one of my all time favorite blogs!

I’m working on Season 3 of Monarch of the Glen. Gorgeous Scottish scenery and a fun family trying to keep their clan castle.

You can watch Season 3 of Vera right now on Acorn TV (via the internet) which I recently did and loved. Season 4 is in the works and will be released next year.

Even though I don’t say much here, I love visiting your journals, and thourougly enjoy reading and seeing the images of your trips. Wanted to pop in and tell you that here in Maryland, we were lucky to watch the first of Vera, Season3 last night, so it shouldn’t be long before you get it.
Besides Project Runway, and The Blacklist, I only watch Brit shows these days, and we in Maryland are truly fortunate to have our very own station that plays nothing but Brit shows, day and night – WETAUK. I was surprised to see Vera here first, instead of the regular PBS Stations. BTW, I read there’s a 4th series in the making.
Back to your journals, I do wish you’d take me back to my hometown, London, in one of your travel journals, though I’m sure you’d be more at home in the Western country or the Lake District of England – but go there when the tourists are not around.

Great view of your journal. I think the photos add a lot to it. But I know when someone gets their mind wrapped around an idea it feels like your being a traitor to that idea when you change it. But I also udnerstand when you get home and eventually mvoe past the trip, you move past it, permanent- time to move forward. Just saying- I think the photos really finish off this great piece of adventure and art.

Love your journal bunches and bunches Missy Moss. I think you handled every page with the perfect amount of ‘filling’ in as needed. Course I like your style and I agree with ya on writing in the moment or as close to the moment as you can get. Love all the photos too of course as they are always gorgeous and you nab all the bestest shots. I could look at your photos over and over (and I do sometimes) just cuz they make me feel like I’m almost there and almost is better than not at all for me.

You’re most welcome, xo

Any chance you could send me that picture of myself, I would love to frame it to remember that glorious boat ride and that genteel captain.

VERA WITHDRAWAL
Have you watched Last Tango In Halifax?
Fabulous!

I love this travel journal and as much as I adore your drawings, I think the photos are a nice addition ~ especially Melinda’s picture! You may have already mentioned this, but how many pages did you apportion for each day of your trip? I’m definitely making one of these pre-assembled journals for my next big trip (Latvia!) because on past trips, I’ve collected items and ephemera and jotted notes but never completed one when I returned ~ sadly a case of paralysis by analysis.

Love it with the photos and the sketches. My journals and travel journals are always a mix of sketches, photos and writing. And like you, I like to write “in the moment” in the travel journals. Like Sandy said, above, can’t wait to see what you do next!

You are my Art Superhero. No chores in art!

I too hate it when a series I’m enjoying is over. Glad to know there’s a new season in the works. And I love the way you finished off the journal with fabulous photos. Can’t wait to go on your next adventure with you…even though it’s a visual journey, I feel as though I am there:)
