My time at the Guadalajara airport finally ended yesterday at 2:30 pm
My cowardly lion badge of courage and I shuffled around from one part of the airport to another.
we saw a sweet little boy playing with his baby Jesus. Taken straight out of his manger and into the Guadalajara airport. guess he had a plane to catch. I wondered where he was headed.
I enjoyed watching some roughhousing among the spirited airport crew.
In my final hour when I couldn’t keep my eyes open a second longer I amused myself by finger sketching on the iPad. My delirious chuckling kept me awake.
At last the little band of weary travelers from our doomed aeromexico flight dragged ourselves aboard continental into the first class cabin. We were beaming, chattering, eager to eat our lunch, and sleep.
By 5:30 pm I was in a warm car rolling towards home through still foggy streets.
Happy New Year gentle readers. I am drinking coffee and going outside to sit in the sun of my back patio. I have a long glorious week of vacation left. Want to reflect on the budding of the new year. All the potential for starting anew…

Happy New Year and I’m so glad that you are safe and sound at home! Thank you so much for taking us along on another one of your grand adventures….especially to places I might not ever get to. The city, as well as, your home away from home, seemed charming and I loved the colorful pictures and interesting history. You are now so deserving of a wonderful week at home and a great year ahead!

What’s happening to my Mexico!!! A big black mark on Aeromaybe and a gold star to Continental for rescuing you (even though you had to pay big bucks for 1st class). Loved living vicariously through this last trip. Glad you’re save and sound once again in the Moss Cottage. Happy 2012 and future travels. Toni in Denver

Welcome back! Bet the go-go boots and orgasm lady are still standing in line somewhere. What a way to ring in the new year. Get some rest and then start designing a new class. Isn’t that one of your resolutions? Perhaps you could think up something really cool and arty to use up old cereal boxes, or Doritos bags…I’ve got lots of those.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us. Living in San Diego with news of poverty and violence just across the border gives me a warped view of our neighbors to the south. Your writing and phototography have given me new insights into the beauty and history of Mexico and her people. I discovered your website just as your trip began and look forward to more enlightening posts.
