Your second photo of the sugar bowl and creamer is just exquisite. That is a framer! I can’t believe you took it with an ipad. I want to title it “Violet Ribbon” of course.

And I am up to my elbows in silver polish……and you are slothing! (And having a fabulous time, I can tell!) I wouldn’t change my Christmas as all my family arrives this afternoon for a full week of fun, but there is that call of Mexico and sitting in the sun, and reading, and QUIET (which does not happen with SIX grandbabies 7 and under in one small bungalow…..)
Have a wonderful time, please, and keep sharing it with us all. I can almost feel my bones warming, looking at your photos!

Not related to this post, but wanted to tell you that I copied all the recommended books to you in an earlier post. Just finished reading Still Life by Louise Penny. The language is so descriptive and the characters are fleshed out. Sooooo enjoyed reading it.

amazing. i just looked over the last few posts and photos. i am swimming in my own dreams and memories of san cristobal. my friend wrote a song about our travels there called “mexican dalian landscape”. those words instantly flashed to mind when i saw the colorful doors and walls and sky. we made our home at la casa morada (“the purple house”) when i was there. i wonder if it still exists… we also stayed at la casa loca (“the crazy house”!). thank you for this wonderful trip down memory lane! 🙂 enjoy your stay! drink up the vivid colors and soak in the slowness of it all.

SIGH. Breathing deeply! Tension slips from my mind like wine poured slowly into a glass through your eyes. Truly lovely and beautiful. I can’t think of a better place to be right now. I’ll just pull up a chair and sit quietly beside you. I promise you won’t even know I am there. 😉
