Hola – That color of green on the hummingbird wall is so vibrant. Loved the paper taller. Usually in Mexico the writing paper is no more than newsprint. Your photos are wonderful. When you return to LA, check out the book, Burden of Time, by Marcey Jacobsen. It contains black and white photos of people and places in San Cristobal and the surrounding area. The author lived in San Cristobal.
Will you ever let us know the name and address of your posada? Toni from Denver
Gorgeous. I am absolutely positive that if I loved in a town like this I would get better grades!

All the Hummingbirds…..so very clever, and a lovely theme to search for in town. This whole place is a treasure hunt. Merry Christmas, Mary Ann! Leslie
That last mural makes me cry… How totally totally beautiful. You will have so much inspiration when you get back home. Your soul will get fed and pampered for sure! Looking forward to the next post!
What fabulous, lucious photos you have shared from your trip to San Cristobal–I think you should write a travel book with all the info about women traveling alone and how you find all these fabulous places!!
I am awash in an ecstasy of color — thank you, Mary Ann, for this wonderful, virtual Christmas tour. I hope you had a Feliz Navidad and wish you Prospero Ano y felicidad. Can’t wait to see more of your trip! The printshop alone was swoon-worthy.

Belated Merry Christmas from Marrakesh! Wifi is iffy at both raids, here & in Fes so can’t fill you in on our adventures but we’ve been having a few! Loving some parts of this trip but also, counting the hours until we land in New York again!
We are also loving your pics & blog from San Cristobal. 2 museums! – fabulous!! You go girl! We went to Jardin Majorelle here in Marrakesh & I thought of you. A very beautiful garden. Also found the tiny & very delightful Museum Marrakesh to be a haven of peace & calm. We dozed in the sunshine up on the roof garden.
Next time, I,m consulting you first on accommodations – both our riads left things to be desired. I think the only way to visit Morocco is to have private guides, private drivers & extremely swanky hotels.
Xoxo to you from North Africa, S
Lovely. (Although am I the only one who is reminded of Alan Rickman in that last one?)
I wish we used more color and art in our buildings here. Other than the blue whale, there’s not much.

I am drooling over all this beautiful color and so many ideas. Art all over the place. These people really know how to enjoy the pleasures of life in such an amazing way.
