This is my tabletop and I will not move. Not for anything. Plus it's my birthday the entire month of July, not just the 4th. And I'm a 16 year old now. And jumping is good excercise for me.
You don't need to clear anything off I have already done that. Oh and you know I am not fond of puffy yarn balls. I had a go at those. I might have bitten one. Purely accidental.
If you make me get down I will go get my fur slippers all dirty outside. Then I might jump on your white coverlet on your freshly made bed. I might. I wouldn't want to. Because I'm not that kind of cat.

HA! Luckily, you knew all this before he said.

Glad to see you have one of those too! Now that I am back from my trip all 4 of mine have decided that they just need to be my center of attention for anything I do — and I have a big fluffy one like your Buck who does the same thing! “Oh you cleared off your work table, for me to spread out on now thank you human!” In fact as I type this, two of the four are hanging out trying to lure me off this machine and back into their world!

Too cute! Happy birthmonth Buck, you rule! (and that’s the way it should be)
linda says
Awww, just love that Buck. Ya gotta let those older ones have their way, especially on their birthday month!

My cat posse – yes, we have reached the posse stage (5) now – sends greetings to Buck and his posse. Who am I kidding – my cat posse – I am just the butler. Let me in. Let me out. Although we have a kitty door…

Buck Moss. A legend. Still kickin his heels at 16, and that ain’t a rug on his head. His eyes are drilling holes just like Clint’s. Watch your back, you outlaw yarn balls…Sigh. Missing my 17 orange tabby named Wrigley with 7 toes on each paw, and attitude. Cats with attitude live longer. Need to cultivate Cattitude.

Happy Birthday, Buck….er….Boss Moss! Hope you have many more! He is such a beautiful boy!! Although I have owned more dogs than cats in my life, your posse makes me yearn for a cat of my own. Unfortunately, an allergic roommate stands between me and feline bliss!! We are not totally cat-less though, my sister rescued an injured kitten a few years ago. He ended up losing one of his front legs but that has never slowed him down. He is beautiful and sweet and loves laying on paper!!! The roommate can’t crab at my sister as my sister is the homeowner!!

Ohhhh – Buck the Adorable!! Happy Birthday Bucky!
I had a cat once who looked a lot like Buck – black and white and fluffy.
She was definately THE QUEEN of the house, and she let everyone know that.
I had bought a flat style birthday cake in a rather flimsy box once,
brought it home, and set it on the table.
When I came back in the room, she was sound asleep,
all curled up on the now squished birthday cake in the box.
Somehow, I don’t know how really, we always think these
shenanigans are just sooooo cute!! 🙂

Dogs have owners, cats just have household staff.

ooo another fine example for my cats to see………..quick cover the screen!! aaaah your kitty kat is soooo cute…and happy birthday to him…wow 16…that is great….he looks so young…you can tell him I said that too. Isn´t it really cool the way they love to lay on the desk with all the art supplies. I love it when they lay there and watch me paint….I think they were all artists in one of their prior nine lives.

I think he may be on to something. Watch him closely.

Buck’s personality {with that little streak of crusty in him} is a hoot! Some little boys choose not to grow up. When it happens in the feline species, it is adorable!
Shelley Noble says
hee hee. Oh, Buck, you are deliciously cute! And looking mighty spry for a 16 year old guy.

I think Buck Moss knows the Great and Terrible Uncle Orcie (my owner). When things don’t go Orcie’s way, he gorges on dry cat food and then goes into the middle of my bed (read brand new Chinese silk brocade duvet cover) and throws it all up. Then he smiles.
Sigh.

A fb friend just mentioned taking one of your classes, and I’m intrigued. When do new classes begin and how much do they cost? Can you tell me more about how they work? Thanks!
Michelle LaPoint Rydell says
OH Lordy HA HA HA!!! This is great!!!! You go Buck!!!! and a happy birthday to you!
Jill says
Happy birth month, Buck Moss! I too demand tributes throughout the month of July. It’s the only life. p.s. Ginger sends smooches. Or would if she was awake.
Liz in Oregon says
Ah, Buck Moss lives La Dolce Vita – look at those dust-bath feet!! I love any posts with Buck because he is identical to my Mr. Beebe who left me two years ago – he was the captain of my soul. Beebe had green eyes though. Love you Buck – never give in!! And Wyatt too. xxoo

Happy Birthday, Buckaroo! You would have liked my former cat, who liked to eat paper. I dare not leave out anything important, like tax documents, etc. She would find the most important piece of paper in the house, sit on it, and chew off one corner. Tear, chew, spit. Repeat until satisfied. I would come into the room and find little pieces of damp paper. I guess she had a paper pulp addiction… I would get so mad at the time. But I sure do miss it now!

Just want to say how I so enjoy ALL your posts! You are so masterful with words and the visuals of your art and life. You are so inspiring on all levels.
Thank you Mz Moss.

Precious !!! I find it too cute that we have a cat that is black and white and his name is Bucky 🙂 And he loves to sleep on my computer desk right next to me as I work.. sometimes sprawling out right in front of the screen .. and I let him because he is the king of the house !
Claire says
You are right– Boss Moss! And I know from experience that when cats reach their more mature years, they know you so well that they seem to get away with stuff they never got away with when they were young. Like this – like sneaking food off the plate some silly person left within reach of the floor… like tracking stuff all of the house. They do rule the house!
Amanda says
Awwww…..happy birthday, kitty! My bday was July 4th too!!
Sherry Eckblad says
too funny!

You go Buck Moss. You know, you really are the boss there. She should be calling you Boss Moss instead of Buck Moss.

OH how I truly understand those cat tricks! Very fun set of photos, Mary Ann. Thanks for sharing.
