my favorite thing was not the view, which was spectacular.

it was not the food, which was fabulous.

it was not the company which was charming.

it was finding out that seagulls have toenails.  and pale pink feet.  pretty much, what i thought about the entire time.

  3. My goodness, those are fabulous seagull pictures!! I love the one where he is looking right at you, as if to say, “48 years old? how can that be??”!
    But just so you know, herring gulls (like the one in your photos) have pink feet but not all seagulls do. For example, the California gull, which you might also see in your neighbourhood, has greenish-yellow feet. 🙂

Moss Cottage, Happy 48 Birthday ,its one of the best yet as you try out your new numbers in life.and so youll be on a new path knowing more now then you have before, and being on a new road to explore. since you love road trips and adventure this will be an adventure you will have to start a new book for:) I for one can not wait to here about this new path in your life and all the pages youll have to turn.I can not think of a better number to be at:)

  20. Did you ever read Sandra Boynton books. There were some of my favorites when my DD’s were babies. Thus, the following. If I could draw I would here but I can’t so picture this while singing along to the tune of the basic happy bday song.

    I beat ya by one day sweetie 1/8 and a steady 52 years in front of me.
    I LOVED the seagull pics….the views and the salty air that made it’s way all the way to a chilly, MN.

    I’ve almost watched all the videos for ROD. I want to watch them all one time before I start the making…but I have started to fiddle with some fun little inserts like days of the week/months of the year…and searching for nifty free fonts. Thanks again for all the work you put into the videos, they’re great. AND thanks for offering the class. I’ll show and tell sooner than later.

  25. Mary Ann! A very happy birthday, and many, many more! Let’s all have a big slab of chocolate cake with chocolate icing in your honor, and hoist a glass of champagne. And let’s invite all the seagulls who want to come because we love seagulls and their pink feet (just not flying over our chocolate cake). Sound of cork popping……

    I see you were at Gladstones for lunch today.
    I have my fingers crossed that you took the 5 minute drive up to enjoy the old Getty Museum (aka Getty Villa )
    There is an amazing educational center dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria
    The Villa houses approximately 44,000 works of art from the Museum’s extensive collection of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, of which over 1,200 are on view.
    The current exhibition explores representations of Mexican archaeological objects and sites made from the Colonial era to the present.
    Admission is free and groups are welcome, so if you didn’t make it today I think you should celebrate with all those little creatives you teach and make it an artist date !
