School's out for the winter break! I'm off until January 3rd. 16 whole days to read, write, think, nap, piddle, stare into space, visual journal, begin my next travel journal, watch the birdies, pick my lemons, make beef stew and gingerbread, slide around the floor in my socks. Also my sister is zooming into town for a quick visit and we're going here:
A small jaunt up north for some beach time. ahhhh. Even though it will probably rain the whole time… WE DON'T CARE! I'm taking A Tale Of Two Cities. Oprah told me to, and I do what she says. Also it was free on my Kindle! Also Paris is one of the cities. Also I've never read Charles Dickens.
Have a wonderful holiday season and I am so happy about your upcoming trip to Paris…sigh.
Thank you for the wonderful artistic spirit you have shared with us. I have learned so much from your ROD class.
Thank you and merry everything,
Catherine
But if it doesn’t rain – it will be absolutely gorgeous, everything around the coast is green, green, green now from all the storms.

I really appreciate your photos. Those children are glorious. You have a special place in the world. Thank you for sharing! I havn’t read any Charles Dickens either, so don’t feel bad 🙂
Oh, I love A Tale of Two Cities! I just finished reading The Swan Thieves and I highly, highly recommend it to you! It’s the same author who wrote The Historian but it is so much better. Art, madness, history, passion–all my favorite things! And best of all–much of it takes place in Paris! Check it out.
Have a beautiful time with your Sis.
We’re off to England tomorrow – our first family Christmas for 10 years!
Tale of Two Cities – you are in for a treat. Bet you immediately want to read more of Chas. He really was a great writer.
Love the pictures of your students. They make me smile.
I love the way you celebrate your students. Also love that you don’t mind rain on vacations. Who cares about anything when there are good books to read. Enjoy your time off!
ATO2C? Wonderful book. Your vacation sounds pretty perfect to me!
Ahahahaha! When we got our new floors five years ago? Sock sliding was my main occupation for about a week. Five years later (and let me just say at age 60)? Yup. Still sliding.
Ship some of your excess seratonin my way, will ya? Merry Christmas, and thanks for another great year of reads. Uplifting to the max.

I know, you’re going to that place you go to every now and then, to get away and day dream. Enjoy, enjoy!
Oh I so love, “A Tale Two Cities”. A tragic love story, a monumental act of sacrifice, wonderful villains, and oh yes it all occurs in Paris. Enjoy the read.

Those elves are so sweet. I hope you like Tale of Two Cities. It’s one of my favorite books. I still cry at the end, even after so many re-readings. Have a wonderful trip to the beach.
You will have the best of times and the worst of times. Hmmmm, looks like Pismo or Morro. If you can make it to Moonstone Beach, so gorgeous and you can take away 30 lbs. of rock. My friend has built the most amazing rock garden from beach stones and succulents. Enjoy!
Could you please enjoy a little beach time for me? We are buried in snow.
Your Santa’s helpers are delightful.
How far north are you doing? I am in San Francisco and it is pouring rain right now — just so you know. But, there is always something fun to do no matter what.
Enjoy your 16 days off — your plans sound great. And the photos of the little elves are wonderful.
You’ve never read a Tale of Two Cities or Oliver Twist or David Copperfield or Bleak House or any of those books? You definitely have your Christmas break homework!! Have fun at the beach!
you will love this book…….savor it…..nothing like self-less love… Merry Christmas.
kindest regards,Missy from the bayou
It’s a good book, I say from my vague high school memories. I think the setting will be superb for a dramatic read. Enjoy your time and plan Paris.
Also those kids are gorgeous. Absolutely. Also have a terrific break.
